Keep in mind, that's a self-install. If your dealer installs it they may put the brain box elsewhere.
Understood. Appreciate the write up. If it is installed it should be close to the OBD port given the short nature of the wire leads. Pretty sure it’s not there already though.

It also seems the standard alarm isn’t enabled from the factory. Weird. Same thing as on my Jeep . I had to go into the ECM to enable it and also to enable the hood open to trigger the alarm.

It probably is, you've just never heard it activated. Try this: Roll down the driver's door window, the close and lock the car. Place the fob at least 20' away from the car. Then reach in and open the car door using the handle inside. You should see a notification that the alarm is activated and you must start the car to disable it. If you don't start the car within a few seconds the horn will begin beeping.

Oh, and thanks to all who didn’t jump down my throat for asking a question that appears to have been answered many times. My first search pulled up one thread and I focused on that instead of continuing to search the forums for more info. My mistake and I’ve been around forums enough to know better. Ha

@legacy_etu can you please explain more why you think the standard alarm isn’t enabled from the factory and why you had to go into the ECM to enable it and also to enable the hood open to trigger the alarm?

And that's what I am trying to find out because I can start it from the Ford app. So I'm wondering if it's something I can have done at the dealer so I can use a fob instead.

Same question here. I have 2024 Big Bend, the ford pass app stopped connecting to vehicle, so now I can't remote start, so I am hoping there is a key fob solution. Salt Lake City is getting cold!

Many people on different Ford forums and Facebook groups have been posting about this and then it magically starts working again a few days later. Impossible to say that will be the case for you, but just FYI.
