If it weren’t for the fact that they were in Glendale I wouldn’t have even known they existed in the first place. Shows how much attention I pay to Sportsball.

I would say that's not right.I have the same engine in the 2025 XLT AWD Maverick I have now[no longer have a BS] I wait maybe a Minute or so and If it's still at a high idle I just put it in gear and take off. I don't think I've ever timed it to see how long it takes for the high idle to drop back.
Dealer states the idle issues are "normal". So i asked for keys to a BS with the 2.0 and it operates the same as mine. I am done with this issue and will be driving it like any other vehicle regardless of the rpm. Thanks for everyones input.Coming from a 2021 Badlands to a 2025 Badlands. This is 1 of my observations I posted about a week or so ago. I noticed it on my test drive.
I haven't paid attention to it after the BL warms up, as I start, shift and go.
This seems to be normal for the 2.0 L MPC engine from seeing these posts.
I guess it's just the nature of the beast, or we can expect a TSB or recall in the future.
They said it is normal and i confirmed this with another identical BS on the sales lot.Let us know what they say or do.
Thanks for this message from our neighbor across Lake Erie !FWIW You have the 1.5. EB not the 2.0 EB the OP has in His Badlands but nice to know that Your high idle drops under 1000 rpm in 45 seconds at -5 C. And FWIW I live in Northeast,Ohio and it's 27 degrees outside right now and it was snowing like crazy about 30 minutes ago with 2-3 inches of snow on the ground.
Dealer said it is normal. Asked if I could start up one of their BSBL on the lot. Found to be no different than mine!Yes sir.
OP did You try what I posted above? I started mine today after sitting over night it was 34 degrees and My high cold idle was 1,500 RPM so Yours is the the same as My 2025 XLT AWD Maverick with the 2.0 EB. .Next time You start it let it run for like 30 seconds put it in gear [reverse or drive] stop before You get out of your driveway put it in park and see what rpm the idle is at?
IMO Just let it run for like 30 seconds for the oil to circulate in Your warm weather put it in gear and drive off and don't worry about it.Dealer states the idle issues are "normal". I did with no change. Today went back to the dealer and started a 2025 BSBL on the sales lot. no change from my ride. Yesterday i spoke to service and was told the issues i have with my BS is, " normal." Guess i will have to get used to it. Wish i had the nerve to disconnect the battery and wait an hour before reconnecting as the DUDE advised. Thanks for every one's input.OP did You try what I posted above? Wednesday when I left for work it was 45 degrees and I started the Maverick left it run maybe 2 minutes stopped at a store 1/4 mile from My house.Put it park it was idling under 1,000 rpm shut it off went in the store came back out and started it 1,500 rpm again put it in gear and drove away.I did with no change. I agree but with these transmissions the electronics and Fuel Injection make it different than back then and they still do have clutches in them. And I never hear any clunks when putting the Maverick in gear with the High Idle when it's cold.Yep, in my old school way of thinking the clutches, if they have them, are taking a beating while placing the tranny in gear at high idles. If I had my way I would sell this BS and buy me a 70's Bronco Sport. Wish I would have never sold that one!!!
