I strongly suggest to everyone, by 50,000 miles get a flush kit done on the transmission. I waited until 70,000 and wish I had done it sooner.
I had been noticing the shifting was a bit rough and it has smoothen out a lot since I had it flushed.

I have to go back to the dealership today to clarify it. The bill shows a kit and 16 quarts.

I went back to ask about mine today, said they did a flush and that the old oil was pretty much burnt
Next time ask for a drain as pointed out earlier: “Flushing the 8F35 transmission is not recommended. Do a drain and fill or back to back drain and fill.”

I'm at 35k and it's been feeling rough from 1-2 or 2-3. I think I'm going to do the fluid swap. What are dealers quoting you guys for the service? Feels like it would only be 1-2 hours of labor on top of materials. I prefer to do my own maintenance but this one feels right at that line of "critical system" that maybe a pro would be a better choice.

Really not that difficult to do.

the drain and refill is supposes to be every 50000km, did they say what they charge for that? I get it included in my service plan.

oh and your in the US so that's probably like 250 to 300 here.. I know in my truck they want 900 bucks to drop the pan, flush and change the filter.. all they are doing is draining a bit and re-topping it off, but it is a pain to do from what the mechanic was telling me.

anyone from Canada have a ford price quote for the trans drain and fill?
