quick general question...
i was thinking of getting a full size wheel/tire for my spare in case something happens....which would require me to buy the TPMS also.... and was recommended that i rotate that tire every time i rotate all 4 tires. any thoughts to this? was thinking of doing this for the Edge ST also since they are "recommending" you change all 4 if you get a flat....
need some opinion on this please.

I have the full size spare with a TPMS sensor. I have yet to rotate that full sized spare in because of a combination of errors on my part.

Changing all four tires because one went flat sounds like a tire salesmans dream. That sounds like an expensive proposition.

The Badlands comes with a full size spare, it is just a little narrower than the rest. Good enough to get you home or to a tire shop.

If you have a full time all wheel drive vehicle, like the BS, this issue is the standard. Once the tires get some wear (I forget the amount), if one gets damaged beyond repair, you have to replace all of them. The option is the buy one new tire and have it shaved down to match the wear on the other tires. Either way seems like a waste but it is what is required because of the clutches in the differentials, which will wear quickly with different size tires. There is an argument for only replacing the other tire on the same axle but then you can only rotate the tires left/right instead of in the usual 4 wheel pattern.

Good to know. Does this mean that the skinnier spare on the Badlands shouldn't be driven very far before replaceing the flat one? Or is it the same diameter as the rest of my Falkens?

Sinbuster007 said "flat", which is a often different than non-repairable. Thankfully, my experience with modern tires is that flats are rare. With TPMS, blowouts may be a thing of the past.

You should be good for a fair distance with the full-size OEM spare tire. Probably not exactly the same size, but within the limits.
