I am about to receive my 2024 Badlands with the 2.0. I don't like the way the exhaust looks. I'd prefer to have the exhaust tips finish level coming out from under the bumper - not pointing down.

The photo, below, is from AFE's exhaust, which shows what I would like to do. I don't really care about a 'performance exhaust.' My experience with those is that the drone and aren't worth the noise on the highway.

Has anyone had an exhaust shop weld tips onto the factory exhaust system? I am sure there is some custom fitting needed in order to get them to exit level and flush, compared to pointing down.

Just curious to see if anyone has done this - what tips they used and the cost. Thanks!

I replaced my OEM exhaust with two 2. 25" Vibrant Mufflers and Two 3" tips for half the price of a brand name exhaust system. The sound is definitely different but without the drone or rasp. Better than I could have imagined it would be. I paired it with a CAI from AFE. Some modest gain in HP and 30% gain in economy.

While I haven't done any exhaust mods on my Badlands, I have had mods done on other vehicles. Some exhaust/muffler shops can do amazing work, they can pretty much do whatever you want, you just need to go in and see whats available and what they can do.
There are also aftermarket cat back systems available but I find they are too pricey.

Here you go.
1. Two 2.25" Vibrant Stainless Steel Mufflers.
2. 4' 2.25" exhaust pipe
3. Two 3" Ceramic coated tips
4. One 2.25" Wye
5. One can of galvanized spray paint for the welds.
I purchased all on Amazon for $325.
The only other thing is the hangers which the shop supplied.

The labor cost at a shop can vary, I paid around $125. I sold my OEM Muffler for $200, that brought my total cost down to $250. My muffler was practically new with only 500 miles on it. I sold it on this sites market place. I my opinion my exhaust was money well spent at one third a brand name system and it sounds awesome.

I went with the Flowmaster FX. I’m pleased with the subtle tone and I haven’t experienced any droning at highway speeds. With the afe intake, I picked up a couple mpgs as well

Looks nice! Thanks much for the suggestion. I’m trusting you! Ordered the muffler just now from Amazon, a Flowmaster FX #72206, $111. So now the real work begins ?

Honestly, if you have a swazall and a metal blade, the whole job should be done in 10 minutes or less

Ordered this morning, went and talked to local exhaust shop owner and will install when received. Went with the black ceramic tips instead of chrome.

*Edit: Borla cat back system with black ceramic tips installed this morning, shop quality and turnaround above and beyond. Really happy with sound and manufacture.
