Some dealers will give customers a loaner car to use while their car is in the shop. IDK how common that is though. They certainly do not have to.
Loaner cars seem very uncommon now at least in my area and I when I have asked at the Ford dealership they simply state loaner cars are not part of their business anymore. Even getting a rental under the extended warranty (for no additional charge) is also difficult.

That's too bad.

I just posted in another thread a couple reasons why dealers should provide a loaner car to customers:

* It is one way for Ford (and mfrs in general) to uphold their end of the implied contract -- we pay them tens of thousands of dollars for a brand new vehicle that we expect to be reliable. Not all cars are trouble-free of course, reasonable people understand that, but at the same time they should not have to pay $$ for a rental car because their vehicle needs warranty repairs.

Even when they DO get a loaner, it's not like they won the lottery. They are still inconvenienced. They may have to take time off from work to take their car to the dealer -- sometimes more than once.

* It gives dealers an incentive to get the vehicle repaired ASAP.

You said, " Even getting a rental under the warranty program (for no additional charge) is also difficult." Are rental cars covered under the factory warranty?

Do you have an example of this here on broncosportforum.com?

Unless you think people who post their positive experiences do so out of malice, I don't think this is a good comparison. For example, I've seen posts here from users relaying their positive experiences in response to a question (i.e., anyone else experience such and such?) Further, some users never post anything except their negative experiences (examples on this forum abound), and generally speaking there is far more negative posts than positive. As a Bronco Sport owner I believe I have a vested interest (resale value) in providing readers who may be doing research ahead of a used car purchase more than negative experiences.
This puzzled me too, as for all that is bad, there is good too, and certainly forums are here to post the bad and the good.

I post my opinions both good and bad, but don't feel I'm a troll for doing so. I also understand the difference between posting something against a lost family member (in this example a dog was used) and posting against a bad service dealership. Two opposite negative points; people on this forum have never (that I have seen) post anything against someone who loved their pet or other family member and stated they bought the wrong pet. Poor example IMO.

One of the few ways an issue such as poor service at an establishment or business can get the attention of the masses is if it gets reported. That's what (hopefully) this forum can help out with.

Good reasoning for a dealership to provide a loaner vehicle when someone who buys a new vehicle is without their vehicle for a period of time due to a faulty part or assembly of the vehicle by the manufacturer. While I will agree that the dealership should not have to cover the costs, the manufacture at the very least should. Perhaps then they will place stronger quality control measures to prevent future issues.
