Only West coast US folks would recognize the name. Me? I'm originally a mid-westerner, now east coaster, but heard the name referenced in various game shows. Is Cal Worthington still around??

Goes to show how effective his commercials were that I can still remember his pitch line twenty years later.Only West coast US folks would recognize the name. Me? I'm originally a mid-westerner, now east coaster, but heard the name referenced in various game shows.

From my post (#76) above:Again, it's probably different in my area because of all the dealers. In other parts of the country the situation varies.
Would your local dealer prefer that you bought it from them, probably.
It's hard to understand why a dealer would turn away service & warranty work just because you didn't buy from them. If that's the case, they need a new manager.
You may be on to something -- 30 Ford dealers within a 60 mile radius is a LOT of competition. That said, I'd guess that Ford considers population density when they set up dealerships -- so that each one 'pulls' from approx. the same number of people. So they aren't starving, but still, as you said, it gives customers plenty of choices.I always heard that most dealerships make most of their money on parts, warranty work , etc, not on actual car sales.
The worthless addons shown in addition to the window sticker are for sure a rip off and money maker if you fall for them.
My situation may be unique, possibly because of my location and the number of dealerships in the area competing for business. I count at least 30 Ford dealers within a 60 mile radius of my home.
Buying 4 different used vehicles, none from my local dealerships, Audi, Mercedes, Ford and Jeep and never an issue getting work done locally is gratifying.
I've owned just about every make possible, except Toyota and BMW in my 60 years, of owning cars and I can tell you that there is a difference with the service departments of Audi and Mercedes, a step above all the other brands. Maybe a European thing.
Again, my situation may be uncommon.
I don’t know, I hear he’s extremely ignorant! Should you trust him?sounds about right. Ty

Normally when you post something positive you can hear crickets. My 2021 BSBL just turned over 30,000 miles. At less than 1,000 miles the manual park release cable was replaced. Since then I’ve had no recalls, bulletins, or any problems. I love my Bronco and will likely trade this in eventually for another BS. I’m not trying to rub it in to people with problems but instead trying to point out that many are good vehicles. All manufacturers occasionally make junk but the vast majority are well made.Do you have an example of this here on broncosportforum.com?
Unless you think people who post their positive experiences do so out of malice, I don't think this is a good comparison. For example, I've seen posts here from users relaying their positive experiences in response to a question (i.e., anyone else experience such and such?) Further, some users never post anything except their negative experiences (examples on this forum abound), and generally speaking there is far more negative posts than positive. As a Bronco Sport owner I believe I have a vested interest (resale value) in providing readers who may be doing research ahead of a used car purchase more than negative experiences.
'21 Badlands here. Mine needed Manual Park Release Cable too, heard brake moan a few times over the years, but its overall excellent so far. 22k miles on it now.Normally when you post something positive you can hear crickets. I'm sorry to hear you're having a difficult time.I’m having a very similar issue and cannot stand the way these dealerships are treating me.. 5 days just to look at my car is ridiculous. My turbo is malfunctioning and I had another shop diagnose the issue and tell me that ford should cover it under their warranty. But when I take it to ford I can’t get any service done because I have to have my car for work… these people are insane. Can we please start a petition or somthing ?
