As a BS BL owner with 245/65r17's (without a lift) if I had a 1 inch lift I would go 245/70r17's, personally.
The 1” lift will not change the issue with rubbing on the BS. The rub happens at the back lower edge of the front wheel wells because of a pinch weld flange in that area. Rubbing happens when the wheel is turned and the suspension is compressed.

In that pic those tires look too big, even though you don't offroad they will rub at some point, awfully close to the backside of the front wheelwell.

The rear of the front tire looks quite tight on that photo. But you are the second person going with that size, an vouching for a no rub fit... thanks for sharing!

Ok. So you'll rather keep the OE tires?

One dude will chime in to tell you 235/70R17 fits but not sure if it will rub off road.
A ton will say 245/65R17, lots of people run it.
A few will say larger (255/65R17) if you don't mind trimming the pinch weld.
A lift does not change the maximum tire size, which is generally accepted to be 245/65R17. The limitation is at the rear of the wheel well, not the top.
Some true measurements will vary based on manufacturer, so one 235/70 may fit while another rubs. We're talking about millimeters of difference at this point, probably best to shop 245/65R17.
You're right, the Falken Wildpeak AT3W 245 70 R17 rubbed, didn't fit.

The OE Falken WildPeaks 235/65-17R are relatively low noise and a great ride in my opinion. Not terribly aggressive looking if that’s what you are after. Spare fits in the well with no modification too.

The issue is the diameter , mine are exactly 30 inch and 10 mm less in how wide they are . Each manufacturer specs are different or are measured differently. I have 3/8 to 1/2 inch of clearance. 10 months no issues. I personally like the full wheel look . Check out the 2025 bronco sport it also is a Goodyear 30 inch .

Bummer, but at least you tried.
I had oversized tires on my VW Alltrack and it was so annoying to buzz the splash guards leaving steep parking lots, hitting big bumps mid-corner, etc. As tempting as it is to get every last mm of rubber on that rim, I'm going to prioritize a good fit this time around. I thought a little run now and then wouldn't bother me, but it did basically every time.

Didn't fit. I tried the brand Falken Wildpeak AT3W. They say that probably the 235-65-17 AT
235/70/17 Goodyear wrangler workhorse are exactly 30 inches diameter. They fit and have been on my first edition for 10 months.

I did correct my mistake in a post above, 245/65/17. 235/65/17 is an optional stock size and will fit, obviously since they are smaller than the 245/65/17. There are probably more than 30 people here that have fit 245/65/17 without an rubbing issues.

I feel like this reply should be pinned at the top of the board.
