I've been wanting to do this since I bought the Bronco. I painted the rear aluminum looking struts black. (What do you call those anyway?) They always made the truck look cheap. Now I'm happy. Picture with left side painted and right side the old way for comparison.
Also shows darkened reflector lights and darkened top rear brake light.

Oh, and a side-note. I paid off the Bronco today. Now I'm really happy. :)

Added sticker from Moab Off Roadeo, and activated inclinometer screen on driver display (which I had seen a photo of somewhere and learned where it was in menu system at Off Roadeo-- see you learn stuff there!).

Right here it shows 9 degree lean angle, that was parking off pavement at Canyonlands NP, which was pretty crowded all day yesterday due to the eclipse.

During the Off Roadeo we hit 15 degrees off vertical. That seemed pretty impressive to me, but our trail guide said Ford had tested it and told the guides the Sport can handle 30 degrees off vertical-YMMV!!!*

*Forward looking statement, past performance is no guarantee of future profits, etc etc.

21,800 miles and got a fast blink. Changed a rear brake light bulb to solve it. Considering how much of that mileage was open highway, that's really poor bulb life IMO. Luckily I already had a 3157 in the drawer. Boo to Ford for making the rear lights come out with those spring clips.

Anyone that hasn't had to do this, it's easy and you can find how to videos. But you have to pry off the rubber trim piece between the light and hatch(with the metal clips), then take off two 10mm nuts holding the light assembly that come set from the factory at seven ugga duggas. Don't even reach for a nutdriver. I had to put it away and get a 1/2" socket and extension. The light pulls out from the outer body side with two more pushpin assemblies.
im in the rear bulb club as well, x2 lol. let me guess - the right rear?

Yeah, I’m one of the lucky ones in my 23 OBX with original Michelin's on. I always get well over 30 on my long highway trips. Cruise control most of the time set at 65-70 max. Sometimes I remember to do Eco but mostly Normal mode.
Everyone has different driving habits. My experience recently is not many people drive <75-80 on interstates.

I guess that depends on where one drives. Route 80 across NJ where the speed limit is 65, cars doing 75-80 eastbound is not unusual. The parallel highway in NJ, Route 78, people drive closer to the 65 mph limit. Route 80 across Pennsylvania: people seem to drive at the limits, which vary in regions from 55 to 70. Similarly in Ohio. Perhaps it depends on how much law enforcement is present.

That’s my plan and I don’t doubt it won’t change. I’m trying to chase the elusive 30 mpg that everyone says they get. It’s a data driven experiment. ?
29.8 using eco one way, 29.2 using normal coming back. Not enough to even use eco anymore. :like:

T'was my driver's side rear actually. I have to look into bulb numbers closer. My drawer of spares has about a dozen of 3057 and just two of the 3157. The bases look identical so I am betting the 1 means a GE Nighthawk (brighter) or long life filament and the 0 is the standard bulb.
While testing my repair, I was also surprised that the LED ring isn't part of the brake light scheme. It's just that one tiny area of a really large taillamp assembly and only one bulb per side. My Fords from last century had two bulb setups, for redundancy!

Oh Definitely. I spend a lot more time on the right than left. (I’m one of the not many people) That’s why I posted my typical driving speeds. Probably can’t get +30 mpg doing 80.

It is all relative to traffic conditions and other variables.
I used eco mode with adaptive cruise control from PA to FL and almost 1.5mpg better fuel economy.
With adaptive cruise control when traffic slows or you get stuck behind 18 wheelers ridding side by side in both lanes. When the congestion finally clears out ahead of you and the car automatically accelerates back up to your cruise control set speed. The BS does it much more smooth and controlled in eco compared to being in normal or sport mode. Multiply this happening a lot during a 900 mile trip and you cut out a lot of unnecessary heavy acceleration.
When on a long highway trip I recommend using eco mode along with adaptive cruise control.
