My Bronco Sport Heritage didn't come with navigation. Is it possible to plug in a Tom Tom navigation system to the front usb and have it show up on the Bronco screen?

You would have to use Andriod Auto or Apple Carplay if you want navigation to show up on our display.

Don't know about Tom Tom but you can certainly plug in Waze and have it show up on your screen.

Does Waze work outside of CarPlay/Android Auto?

OP, if you have an iPhone or I'm guessing most Androids, you can plug it in and use that.

I have a Garmin, used a pen through the mounting clip and it fits perfectly in the overhead glasses door.

If you like Tom Tom specifically, do they have an app to download to your phone that will show up when you plug it in?

Otherwise, your stuck mounting the portable unit on the dash .

TomTom GO Navigation for iOS or Android requires a monthly or annual subscription, and offers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. It is an alternative to the physical TomTom device.

Google Maps is the tried and true method to navigate. It's free, updated constantly to be accurate, and works flawlessly with Android Auto. Shows up on the screen and speaks clearly. Buying the additional package for navigation is essentially pointless since Maps works so well and is free.

I mostly agree with this, but keep in mind unless you download off-line maps to your phone you will lose navigation capability if you do not have a cellular data connection.

Ha-ha! Tell that to the people in 2WD vehicles we pull from the sand on our beach trails. When I ask where they are going the invariably show me a Google Map on their phone and say “To the lighthouse parking lot”. What Google doesn’t tell them is that the “parking lot” is not a parking lot, but a wide section of beach requiring they drive two miles of soft sand to get to!

Yes. I use it with Android Auto now that I have my BS, but previously I used Waze on my phone for driving directions in my old 2011 Subaru.

Of note, Waze is ownedby Google now, and the map updates are the same as for Google Maps. I prefer Waze to Google Maps, personally. I find the routing better, and the traffic reporting more timely, though not sure how that is possible.

Sounds like he likes Tom Tom. An option for him regardless of the cost.

On a couple of long trips this summer I just used the Sync 3 Nav.

I don't use CarPlay or the nav apps very often. Just being an old curmudgeon I guess. I'm sure it works fine, and maybe someday I'll venture into that abyss.
