Badlands without the package. You see it has a "unique cloth interior" and the package is what give the leather upgrades. So, no I would say it is the un-leather wheel in that Badlands and also on the Escape with the red stitching. Has the 360+ so as I said, it has the lane keeping button. I think that is a nice interior really. Think about a wheel wrapper if you're considering it. That is a nicely appointed car and probably the most affordable Badlands at "only" 41k. You can add a dimming mirror and a tow package. No one likes the charging pad.

Oh I’m not buying it lol, I got a great rate on the BS I have now (got it a year ago next month) and rn money is tight and interest rates are up, so the last thing I need to do is buy a new car atm, even though I’d probably like to upgrade to the BL.

Best way I can describe it is a feeble attempt to a leather like texture and feel at a much cheaper price
And they make it look like it’s wrapped too? Because I know I prefer the leather my steering wheel is wrapped in compared to my dad’s Escape and that BL. It’s a lot easier to grip.

Oh ok, yeah that looks to be what it is. I’ve had cars with that kind of wrapping in the past and always thought it was leather.

Nope, not leather, it's a form of plastic, the full name is polyurethane, it's essentially a soft plastic, at least that's how I understand it, if anyone knows more about it, feel free to chime in, I think we all would love to know what Ford made our steering wheels out of

I think it's leather. Especially with the stitching. Like all leather today with a polyurethane coating.

It isn't, just made to look like it, that's all that I do know, there would be no point as leather is more durable than polyurethane, so they wouldn't coat it, it would show wear more if they did

I plan to swap mine for the real leather one, so I'll cut up my old one when I do just to find out what it is really made of

21 BadLands/Badlands trim Black over rapid red.
I tried to find a thread covering this, but I couldn’t so I’m making a thread asking these questions.

I have an OBX and I test drove a BL yesterday and the leather they use to wrap their steering wheels are different. Like the OBX uses a thicker, tougher, textured leather while the BL uses a smoother, thinner leather that every other car manufacturer uses to wrap their steering wheels.

Why is that? Why do they use different leather on different trims? Wouldn’t it make sense to have them wrapped in the same leather? I’m just really curious.

When I drove the BL yesterday, that was one of the things I didn’t like on it because that kind of leather is slippery compared to the leather in the OBX that’s grippier. One would think that with the BL being the tougher, off road oriented trim, it would have the same tough leather that’s used on the OBX. Idk, just puzzled me when I drove it.
Have had the Bl/Bl for the past 2 years , summer/winter, no issues at all with a "slippery feel on the leather steering wheel!

I've been driving my BL with leather wrapped wheel for 2.5 years with no slippy issues at all. I tend to have dry skin and it's grippy in even my hands. (Not because of lotion on my skin either, I never remember to use it.)
