Was there a software change?
Yes. The update is supposed to monitor fuel flow and alert you if conditions exist which might indicate a fuel leak. More to the point, it also limits power output if a fuel leak is suspected, so there is clearly a change to engine control parameters which could affect fuel mileage.

Have you measured by hand, or are you going solely by the dash indication?
Use the pencil in the pencil holder to do some math calculations.

Is the pencil in the pencil holder? THE SAME AS simple old fashioned arithmetic? K

I'm one of those who do not have the pencil holder, so no pencil for me!

No soup, no soup for you!

Yeah, that isn't any tire upgrade level of decrease. Sounds like they screwed up the software. I have the Wildpeaks on my 1.5L and I get 26 mpg on average.

Ok, no puddles I just drove around block and still no puddles..I was born with no sense of smell so no luck with that either. My last fill up held 15 gal. Today my instrument panel reads 25 miles driven , 176 to empty, 13 mpg. UGH!!! That matches my last 15 gal "by my hand" caculation..I'm hearing take it to the dealer to check software and fuel injectors....right

Look under the hood for any liquids specifically on the top of the engine, watch for smoke, and make sure to be VERY insistent when you go to the dealer that there is a problem.

I'm having the same issues. But I drive a short distance to work with a speed limit of 30 or 35 mph, and about 5 stops over 2 miles.

Now, when I get out on the highway, I get a lot better mileage. I'm assuming it's just the constant stop and go.

Stop and go will affect your mileage, so will idling, I average 19 mpg because I sit in my car for my 1 hour lunch break, and Texas being Texas, you gotta have ac, but on the highway, if I do about 65-70 I'll get about 25+ mpg

On top of having dealer check it out, fuel injector inspection, recalls and etc also change oil with synthetic, replace filter.

+

88 fuel at Sheetz, Turn on the Auto start/stop, Eco mode, cruise control @ 55 mph on fwy/ hwy, light foot as much as possible in city.

This provides an opportunity to test the IOLM system if you're willing. According to the manual, extended idling--especially in hot weather--is considered "severe" duty, and you should expect to see a change oil notification between 5000-7500.

My 2021 BS big bend 1.5, automatic, 10700k TSO done on rear brakes and rear end differential replaced. I am only getting 13 mpg. 95% of driving is in town under 40 mph. I tried 2 tanks premium and I used eco mode for one tank with no noticeable mpg changes.. Recently I went 160 hwy miles at 70 to 75 mph and 82 miles in town under 40 mph on 15 gals in normal mode ...avg 16 mpg by my math. Should it be better than that?
Car instruments showed about the same same mpg avg. But 15 gals of in town driving only gets me 13 mpg...what is going on..? I read where people are averging 21 to 25. What can I do?
Sorry you are experiencing such poor gas mileage!
We have a 2021 Big Bend 1.5 too, with 13, 200 miles on it.
We get 24.4 mpg on short hops around town and have gotten 30.4 mpg on longer trips. Regular gas, normal mode. We had the TSB for rear brakes and fuel injectors done too.
Silly question...have you reset your trip meter lately?

Thanks and yes I reset tripodometer at every fill up. In fact that is what brought my attention to fill ups ,now, being closer to 200 miles. My low fuel USE TO ding around 350 to 400 and refill was 14 or 15 gals. So I did a hwy run. Only got 17 mpg. My in town is a lot of stop and go, like yours, but when I only got 16 to 17 on a 180 mile hwy run I!!!!??? I decided something just isn't right. And joined the Forum.

Dummy me!!! what is ILOM ? I only drive about 5k annually and change oil at that interval at the Ford place. But I do remote start my engine for 15 min timer on almost every day that I don't drive it. Is that considered extreme? Could that also cause higher fuel comsumption in my case.
