I thought you hated that dealer with a passion?
I get why you'd take the pen, but why perfectly product place it?

The dealer I bought my BS from I do not set foot in. I have a dealer close by where I get my parts from and where I bought my F-150. The dealership on the pen I got from a dealer close to where I used to work(work?, what's that? I'm retired) and had dropped my F-150 off for a recall fix. I hope this clears things up for you.I thought you hated that dealer with a passion?

?Good thing you told us what the phone number is, before anyone called to harass them.
Could be. I don't think this deleted item was actually cost savings.I wonder if Ford stopped using them because they're maybe a little faulty? Mine drops the pen if I close the lid too hard or maybe go over some bumps. 100Āŗ+ heat every day probably doesn't help keep it tight.
Well if it costs them $1 they are saving about $30,000 every 3 months. And if they can then go out and charge you all $5 and change for it afterwards itās a pretty good gig.Could be. I don't think this deleted item was actually cost savings.
Ford is still getting the $5 without it. Prices are up on the '24s with more deleted items.Well if it costs them $1 they are saving about $30,000 every 3 months. And if they can then go out and charge you all $5 and change for it afterwards itās a pretty good gig.
Gotta pay for all the electric cars that are not selling somehow.Ford is still getting the $5 without it. Prices are up on the '24s with more deleted items.
That makes zero sense. Yes they raised prices, but they are making more money by not having to purchase useless parts that only a small fraction of people will want. So they save themselves thousands by not having to buy one for each BS that comes off the line. Then they can exponentially mark the cost of that part up to the people who want to buy it afterwards.Ford is still getting the $5 without it. Prices are up on the '24s with more delleted items.
That part doesn't cost Ford a quarter. A useless part that was there and deleted. A useless part to you but others here don't agree and bought the part. The point is it should be installed. You seem to be okay with deleted parts. What about all the other deleted parts that Ford considered useless? The electronic door code on the door is deleted for '24. You may think it's useless but others don't. I love that feature. That saves Ford a lot more than the pen holder. That makes zero sense. They arenāt getting the $5 without it in regards to the pencil holder, they are getting an additional $5 from you for your BS.
The only point I was making is that your statement saying Ford is already getting the $5 because they raised prices has nothing to do with the pencil holder. They deleted the item, it costs them less without it, and you buying it creates more revenue for them. That part was not baked into the price increases. That part doesn't cost Ford a quarter. The point is Ford is deleting items and making you pay more.
Well, when most buy a new BS, they don't know what was deleted until they get the vehicle.. Especially if they are on forums. Would they not buy the BS because of that? No but they should somehow get a heads up. When I bought my '19 Ranger, I didn't know the engine cover was deleted. I spent just under $100 to buy the cover and hardware. I wasn't happy about it but a quarter, if that, pencil holder...c'mon Ford..The only point I was making is that your statement saying Ford is already getting the $5 because they raised prices has nothing to do with the pencil holder. As far as features and parts not being included I am fine with that. If someone is that bent out of shape about the missing key codes on Ford vehicles moving forward they are welcome to buy another vehicle. At least that was upfront upon ordering. Iād be more upset about items that get removed during a production year after an order has been placed, such as WiFi hotspot or navigation. Those deleted and suspended items I feel people have a right to be disappointed about.
