I have 2019 Ranger that has had the battery replaced twice under warranty. I know my issue is that I drive it exclusively in town and not every day. I keep it on a trickle charger while it is not being driven.

I have had low battery issues with my '22 BS OBX. The issue is mainly during the winter months when using the heated seats and steering wheel. Again it is driven in town, but is driven 5 days a week. So, I hook it up to a trickle charger once a week in the winter to deal with the issue.
Hey, Lisa! I can take a closer look into your Bronco Sport low battery concerns if you'd like. Can you send us a private message with your VIN and the dealership name/location? To send a private message, just click on our username and select "Start Conversation".

TLDR: after numerous issues with my 2021 Bronco sport base, trading in.

So I’ve been a member since I started having issues with my 2021 Bronco Sport Base model. I got him from the first shipment of them that my dealership received in January 2021.

We were BFFs. I jokingly called him my favorite child which my teens understood because well, teenagers. I drive for a living so 25-30k miles a year on the buddy. Tires went at 33k, not a surprise per tire peeps as they were dealer tires.
The darn “speed” blinker happened and would switch sides even after it was “fixed”. Then at 48ish thousand miles I get the check engine light. 6 wks is how long it takes my dealer to get cars in if you need a loaner which I ALWAYS do because again, I drive for a living. It was something with the fuel injector and was covered by my extended warranty, 100$ deductible and fixed. 2 days later the check engine light is BACK on. Called them right away, still another 6 wks for the next appt. That left a pretty bad taste in my mouth for the dealership.
This time it was a coolant issue. It had completely run out of coolant (weird) and stupid me put in water because dumb. A few days later went to take 5 for oil change(1st time not going to the dealer) and told them about it and they said they had to flush the system. Did that. I actually can’t remember when that was in conjunction with the back to back visits for check engine light. Probably right before or while it was going on. I can check records though.
So it needed a new coolant pump which was covered by warranty and a new serpentine belt that was not. The belt was ruined because of the leak that was covered by warranty but that didn’t matter. Paid $500 (would have been $750 if I hadn’t had the rep I was dealing with send me a copy of the estimate).
Then the gosh darn recall with not enough parts. Our dealer was repairing one a week. I actually mentioned it to the rep I was dealing with for the coolant issue and he had no clue what I was talking about. I had seen it online. Literally the next day I got a notice in the mail about it. I was scheduled about 12 wks out.
Then in May of this year he stranded us in a left turn lane at 930 pm. He conked out and wouldn’t start. Tried ford roadside but they weren’t going to be quick enough for the cops as I was blocking the roadway and none of us knew how to get him into neutral. I should have googled it right then but my brain wasn’t working. Paid to get him out of tow yard and he was towed to the dealership where he sat for 6 days until it was his “turn”. Of course no loaner the whole time and no estimate on time frame so I had 3 different rentals, all out of pocket. Then they called to tell me it was the battery. He sat for 6 days and I was out $500 in rentals alone, not including tow and the 250$ battery. I did submit everything for reimbursement but have yet to hear from them.
About 1 month ago he started thudding when turning. Made an appt for a month out because I need a loaner. It continued to worsen and I grew more and more leery of driving him. I did not want to be stranded again. I was thinking a CV was going. I didn’t trust him anymore. Even after I got him fixed, again, I would stillI be leery driving him. I researched cars and decided on a Mazda CX-30. Scariest drive in the bronco so far was the morning I was going to look at the Mazda. Test drove and decided to start moving forward with purchase. They took bronco to get his trade in value and came back with a number lower than what I was looking to get. I said okay thanks bye. And he said our tech who did the values thinks the transmission is going. It has just under 60k miles. I just laughed while crying inside. He got his boss and they ended up getting me a mazda loaner and getting the bronco in for repairs under my warranty, hopefully. I haven’t heard. My mazda was/is still in transit to me.

I am so sad to not have Bronco any more but I am so relieved to not have to depend completely on a very unreliable car and a wayyyyy to busy for their own good, dealership.

I was told to look into the lemon law but it didn’t seem like that would work for us because issues started after owning for a year. Do I have any chance of pursuing anything or shall I just be happy with my new little zoomy Mazda?

:(
That's brutal! I believe Mazda makes a good product! Best of luck.

I'm going on 6 years with the stock OEM AGM battery in my 2018 F-150 with 15,000 miles on it. Every few weeks I put the battery tender on it for a couple of days. Seems to prolong the life expectancy.
I swear by these (battery tenders). I have one on the 67 Camaro, the RV's chassis and house battery, and the riding lawnmower.

I’m sorry to hear about all your issues, I’m honestly really surprised you stuck with it! I give you many kuddos for that. As I was reading your post I got to the part where you laughed at the transmission going out after under 60k. Well I giggled a little because I had the 22 BS Big Bend and had a full transmission replacement at under 8k. It took a month and a half to get it back. Then shortly after it started making weird noises that sounded like it was under the steering column. I got fed up called big Ford Company, because my dealership was absolute garbage and I got into it with the service people because they rudely tried to brush me off and wouldn’t give a loaner.

Long story short I got approved for it be repurchased under the Lemon Law. Everything I put into it including window tint, down payment I got back everything back, they paid off the entire vehicle and I used the money as a down payment for another vehicle! I hope everything turns out well with your Mazada!

Okay so I made it to 19,000 miles and just happened to stop in an auto parts parking lot. I turned off car but listened to the radio for the 10 min. It turned off and I attempted to start the bronco and dead battery. So I take it out to have it tested and they had to charge it and then run their test and it came back bad on a couple cells or something. So, Is the battery under warranty? I'm trying to get a hold of my service department. In meantime I purchased a new battery and kept the old one in back. Anyone experience this. I sure am happy it happened in august and not in middle of winter. Getting the battery out has you removing the air intake and filter.

3/36 but I would go with a AGM battery if I needed one.
Stock batteries seem to blow.

Thanks, because I did not want to tow to a Ford dealer the battery, I bought is an AGM platinum. Ford called me back - stated bring the battery in if bad they will hand me a OEM Ford battery. I asked if they could give me the cash value of the OEM because what am I going to do with the new Ford battery now, he said not likely. But he will ask the service manager. BTW Orielly's will not take back a new but used battery. I guess Ill have to negotiate with Ford for Merchandise instead? LOL
