You joined this forum two weeks ago; look at my join date. You think I haven't read all the threads on this issue? If you still think this recall is about cracked injectors it's pretty clear who hasn't done the reading.

For the record, there is no data available to the public that shows the fuel injectors used in Ford's 1.5L engine are substandard. There is not even ANECDOTAL evidence to suggest the injectors are any lower quality than those used by other manufacturers. If there were, the NHTSA would have required Ford to replace them. Parts fail, even new parts. These are mechanical devices made by human beings--they cannot be perfect.

This issue is still under study, and it may end up that Ford decides to replace injectors, but that hasn't happened yet. Given this recall has been ongoing for almost a year, I'm fairly certain both Ford and NHTSA have determined there is nothing wrong with the injectors.
The injectors may crack. Ford states that fact. Yes, parts fail but how many times has a company said a part may crack? I don't even know what happens if there's a crack on the road as far as a breakdown.

You didn't read enough. Any part can fail. Ford will not replace injectors unless it has evidence those it installed are faulty. Vehicle fires generate a ton of bad press. If you think Ford isn't concerned about it you're smoking crack. Further, is performing this work in coordination with the NHTSA.

There is no evidence I'm aware of that the fuel injectors Ford installed in 1.5L engines are faulty.
No evidence? Ford says the injectors may crack. Ford is working with the NHTSA on the fire angle and not injectors that may crack.

I recognize this, but at the end of the day, if someone told to there was a possibility of your car burning down, would you not take measures to prevent this? There is a recall out there saying that it is a possibility of an injector cracking, I'm honestly not concerned why or how it is happening, all I know is that it is happening

People, get back on topic or create another thread. :stop:

Anyway, my 2021 Big Bend had almost 200 lovely miles before Carmax offered me $7800 over what I paid. I miss those days of crazy, impatient people throwing money my way!

Motor break in, I was told to take it in at 2k and 5k for oil changes ?‍♂
Damn am I an idiot? I’m about to hit 5k this weekend and have had zero direction from the dealership on when I should do oil changes or any “break in” process. I bought the program that covers oil changes every 10k so should I get one every 5?

You don't actually have to do the break in, though I would definitely recommend doing an oil change at 5k just to be cautious, from there follow the oil life indicator, this can be accessed on the center screen on you dash using the controls on the right side of your steering wheel

I came from Honda and they were directed to keep that original oil in as long as possible. They add extra moly additives to help with the break in period. I don't believe Ford has any direction but someone else posted a Blackstone oil test result that showed extra moly additives.

To me, the absence of direction means I should treat it as a normal oil interval and follow the BS's oil life indicator. The results showing extra additives solidifies that decision.
