Half the posts I’ve read today I thought, what does that word mean?! You have no idea how content I am to know “concer” was a typo and I’m not further inane.

To the post: that was my main reason I went to an Outer Banks and now to an Heritage Limited. I liked the upgraded interiors.

Concerned about what? Plastic inside the vehicle? Yes, my door panel is all scratched up from getting in and out. Hasn’t affect the way it drives yet. Most of the vehicles I’ve own in the past 50 years have had plastic inside. Don’t worry, it will probably outlast us.

I don't get it. Every vehicle made today has plastic interiors. Some are better looking in style(?) perhaps, but plastic nonetheless. The BS is meant to be a rugged type vehicle, so it's going to be scratched more than say a luxury vehicles plastics by most owners. And price? Sure, the plastics are going to be plain and less rugged.

There is a solution. Buy a Range Rover or comparable SUV such as this. Then you can complain about your monthly payments, and the fact you would not want it to get dirty.

I had a 58 Chevy Apache pick up truck that was all metal inside. At least 1/8 to 1/4 inch metal. If you were not wearing a seat belt (my 58 did not have them) and you got into a decent accident, you were going to hit the dash, and die. The dash was going to win the impact battle. It had a "stove bolt 6" cylinder engine, and on a good day, I saw 55 MPH with a good tail wind.

So today, I have a 3 cylinder (with more HP than the 6 cylinder), a cruising speed of 75 (or more), and if I'm in an accident (god forbid please), I have a much better chance to walk away.

Plastics are my friend.;)

I do worry it may not get cleaned and may get banged around by some owners , I can’t fix the world.

If you're going to play in the dirt and rocks, you're going to want/need an easy to clean interior. I think this was a conscious decision by Ford.
[Full disclosure: I don't have a BS yet. Driving a '17 Escape, and decided to wait until 2024 ordering is opened up to order a BS Badlands]

concer
Unruly person that brings out the worst in mankind by promoting selfishness and ill will.
I was at work the other day trying to surf the internet and that concer Harry was talking so loud on the phone that I could hardly see straight.

Possible typo aside, I wish the question was more specific. What plastic? What about the plastic? Entire cars across model and manufacturer are plastic. Doesn't matter if you get a Silverado or a Wrangler or a Palisade. How should we feel about it? It's like asking my concer about the glass on a phone, or glaze on a dinner plate.

Are you sure you picked the right username? You could easily be a year away from owning a '24. That will give you a lot of time to see what else happens in the car market. I think conditions can only improve and lots of Bronco clones are starting to appear. Scout is making a comeback too. However, I bet they're clad in plastic, both inside and out.
