Is there one option that you think is a useless one?

The little cubby in the middle of the dash. Nothing stays in it. Would rather have some sort of phone storage besides where the wireless charger is. There are normally two people in the front and both have phones. Unless you just hold it, no place to put it.
When driving down a highway behind someone who is swerving in/out of lanes, I know where they can put it...

Isn't the wireless charging technically a useless option? I need to plug my phone in anyways to use the google/apple maps, along with my spotify... seems kinda odd to have them inside the trend packages amongst most car manufacturers. Maybe I get super charging capabilities.

or, am I using it wrong? :inspect:

Some people prefer to use the SYNC interface rather than AA or CP. That generally applies only to those with factory navigation.

I often use the wireless charger. I use a USB stick for music and the built in nav system for maps.

I know some people use it, but I think the rear hatch unlock button is useless since there is no powered hatch and you naturally put your finger on the unlatch button when opening the hatch.

The molle straps. I have no use case for that.
The bottle opener is a gimmick.
Auto high beams. Never used it, don't know why I should.
Good for finding monkeys in the trees.

I'm very confused by this thread. It asks for useless options. I only see people discussing features. For example, the bottle opener isn't an option. You don't order or not order a BS with a bottle opener, there isn't a line item that you would pay for a bottle opener option.

For actual options, I think the useless ones are:
  • Moonroof. I totally understand that this is polarizing and some people love moonroofs so much that they'd never buy a vehicle without one. Fair enough. I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum.
  • Any trim that offers an upgrade to an 18" (or larger) wheel. Looks worse (rubber sidewall to metal wheel ratio goes down) and works against offroad capability. Just a really weird option that Ford and every other XUV maker offers.
  • B&O Audio. I usually get this upgrade because I value the navi system (yes, I like Ford navi better than Carplay + Waze/Google Maps because cell phone coverage is incredibly spotty where I live). But, the B&O audio is definitely the worst "premium" audio I've ever heard in a car. It's embarrassingly bad.
  • Graphics package. Expensive and doesn't look good to my eye.
For useless features that just happen to be on the vehicle, but weren't options:
  • Bottle opener & the lights in the liftgate. It's really gimmicky and useless stuff.
  • Molle straps in the seat backs.
  • All of the nanny features Ford puts in that go way, way overboard.
  • Traction control which generally does the opposite in vehicles
  • GOAT modes ... way too many and I have yet to see a definitive video that demonstrates the utility of them. I can see theoretical conversations about what the modes are meant to do, but a scant few that demonstrate practical application of them.

I live out in the boonies, so driving at night means lots of rural roads and highways surrounded by woods. That means critters. I don't drive at night on those roads without highbeams on as much as possible. The auto highbeam is a godsend for me. It makes for a far more relaxing drive since I never worry about blinding other drivers.

Some have reported spotty performance with their systems, but mine has worked perfectly. It disables highbeams much faster than I could, and I've never had to turn them off manually due to a miscue of the auto system. If anything, it's more sensitive than I would like in situations where I'm following other traffic.

Your point of options verses features is my mistake. I stated a feature with the bottle opener, which is not an option. Maybe I can edit the title, but do not want to make anyone else other than me look like I did not read my own thread!

Bad Option or useless Option would be the Ambient Lighting. No cup holder lights and the ones in the footwell are really Dull if you ask me and yes I have the Brightness slid all the way up to its Brightest Point.

I see using the bottle opener when camping or after a ride on the ole mountain bike. For me its the phone pouch on the passenger seat, my phone has been in a silicone style case for years and it is a pain to get in and out.
I use the pouch for my glass breaking tool.

The wireless charger works great in conjunction with using a wireless android auto adapter. keeps the phone charged while using android auto wirelessly.
