Not sure of any good solution but when driving into late day sun I get a real bad glare off the hood (the ridge on passenger side of hood). I like the looks of the hood but that gate can be pretty blinding for a period of time. Just an annoyance and wondered if others had this issue.

Haven't noticed, but for me, the blinding I get from the sun is usually glare off of the back window of a car I'm following (I try to stay about 4 to 5 car lengths away, but that just allows another car to insert itself, and then I get glare off of their back window. Maybe because the BS sits higher off the ground?

Seems to be in the afternoons, when I'm going east, and sun is setting to the west.

Yes, this has been a common complaint. Some have done decals and stripes to varying degrees of effect. On my prior Sports, I did the hood scoop (and my wife wish I chose to do it on my current Sport).

Haven't had that problem in over 2 years of ownership of an Outer Banks.

We will get the glare at times depending on the time of day.

this hood design is prone to it. It’s definitely a safety issue. If the sun is shining and the angle is just right, it’s bad in the broncos. Fortunately for me, I’m driving north/south mostly. if you are commuting easterly in the morning and westerly in the afternoon…well that just sucks.

I wonder if it depends on the color? I'm in Oxford White and don't believe I have this problem. I haven't been able to do much driving though, other than home from work after 8pm.

I know this isn't really a fix, but if it was me, I'd rub some wax that dries to a haze on the offending section, and leave it there. You can always wipe it off if you want to.

Was the hood scoop functional, besides eliminating the glare? ?
I'm asking because of the Fuel injector recall. When I open the hood on my BS, it amazes me how hot the engine compartment is. I keep wondering if the injector failures might be heat related.
Oh - and do you have a part number/manufacturer for that scoop?

No, not functional. Just to look good. I got many compliments on it and we loved it but it just doesn’t look right on the HLE so I did the bug shield on the front instead. Here’s the order:

I also recommend the side moldings. They are cool and functional.
