It was long, but I really shouldn't complain. I bought the Big Bend knowingly as a placeholder and have had the privilege of driving that around during my long wait. I did feel a lot of pressure to keep the mileage low and keep it pristine, so I haven't been driving as much as I'd like. Additionally, with me accepting that NC job offer, I've been putting off pre-approval for a mortgage to keep the car financing as separate as possible on my credit report. There have been some inconveniences and some frustration, but I've had a reliable vehicle.
Unfortunately, I know the drill way too closely. I reserved a 2 Door two years ago. At that time Ford was saying they would build them based on reservation date. A year later, the bigger dealers cried and forced Ford to go back to the allocation system. My dealer got screwed and once you had a reservation converted to an order, Ford would not let you change dealers. Fortunately, my dealer offered Bronco Sports at 6% below invoice. I ordered mine about a year ago and quite honestly could not be happier with the Sport. I did change the configuration of my 2 Door Badlands to a 2 door Heritage Edition a few weeks ago so I’m looking still at another year or so to get that.

The final interior and exterior detailing day is complete! All shiny and prepped to find a new home. And now I'm not touching it until Monday. ?

Thanks Prawn! Really looking forward to tomorrow. My boyfriend has driven us past the dealer's storage lot for the past two days just to admire it.

Interesting dealership experience! My Badlands looks perfect and drives beautifully. It is missing that passenger side fuse panel, but they're going to order it for me. They originally gave me the new higher sticker price without price protection, so I called them out and sent them @fordvideoguy 's price protection screenshot. They budged, but they're having me finance the higher amount and will cut me a check when Ford reimburses within 45 days. Not the most pleased about financing about 3k more and paying a bit extra in taxes, but at least the check Ford sends is tied to my VIN and I will be paid. I'll just put it towards the principal when it arrives. I pushed a lot, but their sales manager told me this is how they've done every single ordered vehicle. I did file a report with corporate through my Ford employee friend and he promised both the dealership and I will be getting a call from corporate to make things right.

They did give me my 1k rebate and the 2.9% interest rate for 60 months which was the special back in March when I ordered. They low balled my trade-in based on "market rates" but that was a risk I took keeping it while I waited on the Badlands. They went up slightly when I pressed, but I accepted that minor loss.

When all is said and done, my monthly payments increased $100 with the same finance term. I'm not crushed whatsoever. The Badlands is worth it.

Waiting for it to be washed and then I'm driving home! Photos to come!

My dealer honored everything we had talked about back in late April without question. No markups or “fees” on top of MSRP.

We got the $1,000 cash from Ford and $5,500 for trading in our lease (2019 Escape Titanium).

Getting $5,500 back from a lease seems crazy but used vehicles are in demand right now.
