Question: Ford chat now gives me 9/26-10/2 as estimated ship time instead of eta to dealer. Originally when I placed my order 2/15, my dealer said don’t expect to see it until Fall. They seems surprised I was getting built in July. I’m not sure if holdup for my shipping might be their doing by either coding on my order or dealer allocations. Funny they predicted Fall when I placed my order and here we are. Anyone have any familiarity with dealer allocations? I will be exploding on my dealer if they are the cause my built BS has now sat for 21 days and counting.
They told me the same thing. Our order is almost a mirror image except I ordered mine on 2-28
but all of the other dates are exactly the same production dates changes, invoice date, built date
and awaiting shipment 22days. Dealer originally told me it would probably be a 4 month wait and
I have called him a few times over the almost 7 months I have been waiting and all he tells me is
I just have to be patient!!!

Tim explained it in detail. but basically each dealership needs to earn their allocations. the more they sell, the more they will get.

the dealership must had a low allocation for BS for whatever reason....I didn't have a good buying experience from them so perhaps that explains it. that is a separate to tell later. My order was in January. there was another retail ordered car being delivered just after mine ordered 2 months later! almost identical BS BSL in bronze color. Ford decided to schedule both of these cars at the same time. That car also was stuck in the "Chip Hole". I don't know if that person is on this forum. anyhow, I can only assume this is due to either allocation or perhaps the options ordered was short of parts.

So if I understand this right, the more they spread out their orders to put sales on the books strategically placed each month, the more allocations the dealership will earn for that month?

I doubt it's an allocation issue. Dealers are allotted so many vehicles based on several factors including region, number of units sold previously, etc. I have a 2 door on order since early '21 and it's because of constraints and allocations that I still do not have it.

If yours was an allocation issue, it would not have been scheduled. Its most likely either a constraint (chip) or a transportation issue that is holding it up from shipping. There are many of the forum that have had theirs built but then was driven onto a lot to wait for a part. It's happening all over, not just Hermosillo and not just Ford.

Also, before the constraint issue, Allocations were typically only an issue with high demand vehicles. It's now spread to most vehicles and small low volume dealers are the most affected.

So I've been checking with Ford chat every so often and they had told me that my bronco sport had arrived at a junction point in IL on September 9th that had been the only update until today when I checked and Ford said there isn't any update and it hasn't shipped yet and the shipping eta is now 9/24.. I called the tracking line the other day and they said the railcar had been "released by the customer".I saw someone with a similar situation to mine,, has anyone else seen anything like this?

Mine has departed from Nogales, Arizona.

Northern Southern states it departed on a flatcar. Does that mean it’s fully exposed?

I know I will never figure this out or understand why mine sits. I was in the July chip hold but was all put back together 8/24. According to Chat, I was moved to ramp 5S on 8/25 just awaiting shipment. My dealer says they are top 3 for NE PA area. I appreciate your insight but it continues to go against any rational explanation because I’m built and just waiting at 22 days now. Thank you @Escape2Bronco

Ford earlier this year admitted to doing this, serving bigger markets first before smaller markets. They said the were going to stop doing it, and go to a first in first out model. After going through the process that doesn’t seem to be the case.
This is why I went to Broken Arrow, OK instead of the small town dealer I normally use.

ALL IS GOOD, lights are fine!
The lights are only coming on on the side you are turning towards only. Guess this is normal.

Check your lights are working before leaving the dealership!!

Already have to take mine back for warranty work. Less than 5 hours old. Turned on the headlights for the first time and noticed that one of the fog lights was out. Now a trip back to the dealer to drop it off and get a loaner so they can change fix it. Seems extreme, but...
Also a scare with a rogue door/bicycle in a parking lot...ugg ...some people. Luckily they hit the fender flares. Glad we added those. Paint wiped off.

No, it’s a vehicle transport car.

Make sure the front wheels are straight when you check, the fog lights are used for turning as well.
