Installed a console safe. This was the easiest of all the mods I've installed so far. It's just a locking lid in a frame with two side plates that slide down into the console. It's held in place with four screws that go through threaded holes in the side plates. You simply drop the assembly into the console, then turn the screws with a 7/16" socket on a ratchet until they bottom out. The self-tapping screws will bore their way into the plastic sides of the console. From the looks of it, the only way to get into the console with this installed is with a crowbar.
Because the only thing inside the console is the two side plates, you do not give up access to the charging ports. You will lose a small portion of the console's internal volume, and reduce the size of the largest item that will fit through the door. In the first photo below you can see the assembly inserted with the screws in place. There's room for all the stuff I usually store in the console with room left over to fit a medium-sized belt bag.
