Minor issue, but periodically when I start my Bronco the front and sometimes rear wiper will swipe one time. It’s very random. I’ve looked at the Courtesy Wipe feature and it is something different. This feature gives you one extra wipe after you have activated the windshield washer fluid to clean your windows. I’m at a total loss. Any thoughts?

Hi there! I can look into your Bronco's wiper concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Bronco's VIN?

I would suspect an issue with the sensor. Does this happen often first thing in the morning? Your avatar says Arizona, so I would be surprised if you get a lot of morning dew on your windows, but if so that might be your culprit.

Thanks. I’ll have them check it next time I bring it in. You’re right no dew here or rain for that matter. Haha

To narrow down the issue you could disable the rain sensing wiper feature (until the monsoon rains return) just to see if the random wiper turning on disappears

Mine does that every once in a while first thing in the AM. Sometime it’s me and my “monkey paws” accidentally hitting the damn switch, other times I find the switch off. I have always just cycled it once and problem solved.

Speaking of wipers, has anyone found a replacement for their rear window wiper? I found plenty of options for replacements on the front, but have been struggling to find a rear one. Any thoughts?

My experience (admittedly anecdotal) is that Ford SUV rear wipers don't do well with aftermarket blades. Both my Expedition and our old Escape had terrible performance (streaking, etc.) with Bosch, Rain-X and Trico, even though Bosch blades worked great up front. Broke down and bought the Motorcraft and problem solved. Worth the extra money.

I bought some of the wiper replacements shown in the post above. They worked great on my F-250, but I haven't had time to replace the ones on my Sport. That is the old school way to replace wiper blades. It is amazing to me that people want to replace the entire assembly for way more money, when all that needs replacement is the rubber. The Motorcraft wipers are ridiculously priced. I had to look up on YouTube how to get the replacement wiper on my F-250 with a replacement assembly I got at Goodwill. How they make something so simple into so complicated amazes me.
