Who changed model? Who sold a 1.5 to get into 2.0?

I've had my Big Bend for almost a year now its everything I expected. The 1.5L is all I need to drive to work and find some lost trails somewhere. If only it had the suspension and drivetrain of the higher models but for what I paid for it, I'm glad I bought it.

Besides the guts of the 2.0, the drivetrain is also more robust. Throw in the suspension, added drive modes, front camera skid plates, extra towing capacity etc. make the Badlands and First Edition worth the extra cost.
Even the Bronco Off-Roadeo didn't/doesn't allow the the 1.5 models to participate.
That was my math, as well. Unless one's budget doesn't allow for the additional spend, you get a lot more car in the Badlands for a relatively small amount of money. To me (and I get not to all), it's totally worth it to spend that difference. At time of purchase is the cheapest going with the Badlands will ever be, versus later trying to beef up a different BS model or sell and upgrade.

We had test drove the the 1.5 and the wife was fine with it, but we require dual climate zones, it's our one non negotiable. That put us in an OB at least and for the negligible price difference the BL made more sense. So glad we did, the 2.0 is so much fun to drive, its about the same but feels so much faster than my '12 mustang (v6 I was a poor intern when I got it) I still miss my stang but this new pony is quickly making me forget the old one.

Another reason I ordered the 2.0 instead of a model with the 1.5L engine is because I once owned a motorcycle with a 1.8L engine. Admittedly, it was a 2 cylinder V-Twin, but still...a larger engine than the 1.5L Bronco. I've no doubt that engines have come a long way since then, and the 3-cylinder engine is sufficient for the Bronco. But I couldn't wrap my head around buying a new car with a 3 cylinder engine in it. I'm just not there yet.

There are worse things in the automotive world than a car with a 3 cylinder engine. Number one, an electric SUV from Ford with the name "Mustang" on it.

Originally got the 22 Big Bend with convenience package in January because it was all I could find on the lot. Always wanted the Badlands but decided to settle.. fast forward to today and I traded in the Big Bend for a 22 Badlands (no add ons whatsoever) off the lot and already love it so much more. Like others have said, it just feels like a much more refined vehicle. Could I have lived with the Big Bend and been happy? Sure. But I just couldn’t shake that feeling of longing for the Badlands. Either one you get, they’re phenomenal and capable vehicles.

Add me to the list. I'm more than happy with the 1.5 in the Big Bend but out of curiosity I checked to see what Carvana would give me for it. They are paying me what I paid out the door. My dealer has an Alto Blue Badlands, that isn't spoken for, coming in in a few weeks so I'm taking the plunge. I just had the oil changed yesterday. ?

Congrats. After you put some miles on the Badlands, I'd be interested to read about your experiences with the two trims and thoughts on the 1.5 vs 2.0. I'm still waiting on the Badlands I ordered after selling my Big Bend last year.

I just sold my OB because my ordered Maverick came in, 2.0l awd. It definitely has more power!
