Twenty extra lug nuts that you can't check unless you pull the wheels. Many are in use. They change the steering geometry a bit. Also put more pressure on the wheel bearings. Back in the day, chrome reverse were the rage, but then those cars weren't used on long trips, just boulevard cruisers. Cars are built to minimum specs { Read as cheap as possible} using components that do the job. Not for me.

I bought a Chevy HD2500 Duramax (used) that had spacers on it. I removed them when I got the truck home. On each wheel, a minimum of two lugs were snapped off on each wheel; one had 4 out of the six cracked!

Never will I consider a wheel spacer. I don't care what the manufacturer says about theirs.

Looking to get some wheel spacers to space out my wheels to match my fender flares what are your experiences with spacers and brands? Any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks

If you’re thinking of going down that route then I’d recommend not cheaping out on spacers. It can be very dangerous. Get a reputable brand like Bora. Also maybe watch a couple videos on YouTube on how to properly install and retorque etc.

The point of the flares is to keep the mud and debris in the wheel well instead of on the side of your vehicle. Moving your wheels out defeats that purpose.

If it is just for looks, you might want to go with a wider tire.

I'm going to piss off a lot of people here saying this but I can say this from experience, as I run a tire shop for 20 years and owned it myself for 12 of those years. You'll have no issue with spacers with snap lugs anymore than you. Would your regular wheels. Once you install them, you are going to torque them to spec the same way you will your rims when you install those. Then after roughly 100 km you're going to pull your rims back off and retorque them just like you. Would I normal wheel. Reinstall your rim torque it to spec and then another 100 km you will retorf the rim. There's that problem solved. As for it, putting stress on your bearings and such, there's absolutely no more stress put on them with wheel spacers. Then there is with an offset rim with equal dimensions to what the spacers would be. And offset rim is technically just a regular rim with a spacer already built into it.
