I’ve always driven a Ford. I traded my 2014 F-150 SCrew for my BS BL. Love my Sport.

Used to have a 2015 Scion Xb. Was a realible car and hated to get rid of it but I wanted AWD for Ohio weather and be able to do small bits towing.

My '07 Trailblazer LT was great, but I began seeing some signs of problems and traded it in last year on my wife's Subaru Outback. I had an '04 Corvette in the garage and drove it until totaling it in January. The BS is a great vehicle that combines functionality with comfort and has a certain sportiness. It's not nearly as fast as the Trailblazer with the 5.3 V8, and can't touch a Corvette, but it's hard to beat as a daily driver with off-road capabilities.
I was driving a 2017 Escape S. Well, I’m actually still driving it, waking for my OB due before August 9. I’m retired, so it only has 16K miles. I bought the S base model as it wasn’t an eco boost. I’d heard bad things about carbon build up on the valves of the direct injection eco boost. I added leather seats and a remote start. My OB has all of the options minus a moon roof and the cargo management system. The Escape has peeling paint in a 1-2 inch strip just above the windshield. I googled the paint issue, and found that it was a common problem, but only on the blue ones. No class action suit yet. Ford claims the problem arises from high pressure car washes. I got an $1800 quote to paint it. The primer is still good. I could go on driving it, but low mileage used cars are getting a good price right now. So it really comes down to this: In five years time, do I want to be trading in a ten year old base model Escape with paint issues, or a five year old BS OB with all the options?

The spiritual forefather of the BS, the 2nd gen Escape. (2011 XLT 2.5L AWD) Bought new and traded in at +137,000 miles after the electronic steering failed.

I love my BS, but I still get a little wistful about the Escape. I can still hear that satisfying clunk of disengaging the park brake.

It may not have been sold as an off-roader, but I can assure you it was more than capable, and I got in a few inadvisable predicaments, including a failed three point turn in a creek bed that required a recovery from some friendly Hondurans who were almost late to their daughter's graduation.

Although I could fill up a whole novel comparing the vehicles, I'll give you only the quirkiest omission in the BS: when the window lock was engaged in my Escape, all passenger window switches would no longer be illuminated. The BS switches remain lit even when locked.

Another previous Escape owner here. This beauty is 2009 Limited that we traded in at about 175K miles original ownership and still going strong. The picture was on the day we left it at the dealer and drove the BS home. It was a great vehicle and the 240 hp V6 Duratec engine is missed!

I was driving a 2005 Jeep Liberty Sahara (3.7L v6). That thing got me into and (thankfully) out of many cool spots while camping. It really was a very good vehicle to me and for my needs.

From a size perspective, the BS BL is pretty close in terms of length and height. Interior room is actually a bit cramped on the BS compared to the Liberty but there’s more cargo area in the back and I can count how many time I’ve had people in the back seat on both hands and not run out of fingers.

My wife was driving a 2018 Nissan Altima midnight edition. Nice little car but man I hated how low it set to the ground as I am used to a truck. She likes her Bronco Sport so much better!
