I’ve always driven a Ford. I traded my 2014 F-150 SCrew for my BS BL. Love my Sport.
I love, love, love those Cragar-style wheels. And my 2007 Roush 427R Mustang (still have the Mustang)![]()
I was driving a 2017 Escape S. Well, I’m actually still driving it, waking for my OB due before August 9. I’m retired, so it only has 16K miles. I bought the S base model as it wasn’t an eco boost. I’d heard bad things about carbon build up on the valves of the direct injection eco boost. I added leather seats and a remote start. My OB has all of the options minus a moon roof and the cargo management system. The Escape has peeling paint in a 1-2 inch strip just above the windshield. I googled the paint issue, and found that it was a common problem, but only on the blue ones. No class action suit yet. Ford claims the problem arises from high pressure car washes. I got an $1800 quote to paint it. The primer is still good. I could go on driving it, but low mileage used cars are getting a good price right now. So it really comes down to this: In five years time, do I want to be trading in a ten year old base model Escape with paint issues, or a five year old BS OB with all the options? My '07 Trailblazer LT was great, but I began seeing some signs of problems and traded it in last year on my wife's Subaru Outback. I had an '04 Corvette in the garage and drove it until totaling it in January. The BS is a great vehicle that combines functionality with comfort and has a certain sportiness. It's not nearly as fast as the Trailblazer with the 5.3 V8, and can't touch a Corvette, but it's hard to beat as a daily driver with off-road capabilities.
