Thanks a green line moves back and forth while driving from 0 to the 40 but the 22.4 doesn't change whike driving. It has read that same number for months from the 1st time I discovered this . The 22.4 doesn't match my odometer mpg either...I just can't figure it out. Dummy me..

Yeah, the green line is the key. It moves up/down depending on your current miles per gallon usage. the numbers are just reference points (I think).

It’s showing your estimated MPG in real time and then the average since the last reset.

Thanks guys. So if I'm costantly seeing this 22 number and I reset at every fill up... does that mean im avging that mpg ... and its not getting the 26 it is rated at ?? And is 22 close enuff to not be concerned?

Yes. Remember, your milage may vary! But, in the same tone, it should vary. I’m surprised it stay the same after every reset. Mine hovers around 23 but drops in the winter but it does vary. That would almost indicate it isn’t being reset.

Ok, when I say reset im talking about the reseting (to zero) the odometer readings for trip one and two. Is there another reset for this guage?

I think so. I have a Badlands and don’t use that screen but if you switch to it using the menu page, you should get an option to reset average MPG assuming it’s different from the one on the trip menu screen.

This fixed number is showing lifetime mpg average.
This does not get reset by resetting the trip meter.

You should be able to reset this when you page through the menu’s and you get to the fuel economy page. It should ask you if you want to reset and then hold the ok button.

I would recommend not resetting this after the initial few tanks of gas.
This average can be used to compare the number from your tip meter mpg calculations. If you notice the you are getting a couple lower than average number after a couple tanks it could be an indication that you vehicle needs to be serviced. If your lifetime average keeps being reset you will not have this info unless you track on paper.
