Pretty much. I didn't mind the Bronco Sport at all. My mom adored it. Sure, my dad liked it but he's always wanted a Jeep. Just the idea of popping the tops and having something even more capable in the winter months were the reasoning. It'll take my mom some getting used to with driving since they're two totally different vehicles. Going from a unibody to body-on-frame which means a bouncier ride, going from a 3-cylinder turbo to a naturally aspirated V-6 with 110 more horsepower and sitting higher off the ground. I'm used to it, personally, because I've driven a fair share of bigger, body-on-frame trucks and SUVs. Just five years ago, my daily driver was a Ram 1500. My mom is used to driving unibody compact SUVs. The last ladder-frame vehicle she drove was a Land Rover Discovery 13 years ago.
Sure it's more Horsepower but weighs how much more than the BS? After having my past F-150's with Turbos and now my BS with a Turbo i don't think i could go back to a N/A engine in my daily driver as the Smaller Turbo engines are great at making Torque compared to the N/A V-6's. And with the Pedal Max my little 1.5 Eco Boost is much more enjoyable to drive and much more responsive.

I'm sure but i think most people don't use their Jeeps for Rock Crawling much.
Not as much as they should! That’s where they really excel at.

Enjoy! But, unless you put some new shoes on that Wrangler you haven't gained anything in the snow! :)
no joke….. I saw a new one with what appeared to be a Touring tire. I was like…. Ok so I just dropped 55K , +? On a “Jeep” with what looks to be an inch or 2 more ground clearance and Now I gotta throw some proper beef on those wheels.

I’ve owned a Jeep. But it was a real one.

I have owned 3 Wranglers and I think a lot of people just don't realize what they are buying when they buy a Wrangler. In fact, I have neighbor who recently bought one and only kept it about 6 months. Even after all the refinements to make them more soccer mom friendly, they are still an off-road vehicle with somewhat tolerable on-road manners.

Off-road they shine but on road they are noisy, ruff riding, poor handling rattle boxes with bad gas mileage. Every one I have owned eventually developed "Death Wobble". My last one I had for 6 years. However, it was not a daily driver and I only put 19,000 miles on it. I told myself after my first one, never again as a daily driver.

That said, they have come a long way since my first one in the 80's and who knows, I may buy another one soon if the price is right.

Congratulations on that. I wish I could do the exact same thing for the two door version of your truck, but I'm not comfortable taking the kind of bath I'm going to take on letting go of this car at this point. Would love to be out of it.

Thank you to all that responded positively. Thank you for understanding. However, I will say this. To anyone who is questioning my decision, let assure you, I am fully aware of what I'm getting into. There's been some skepticism floating around since it's not gonna be reliable or the fact it weighs more, it's terrible to drive, it's not good in the snow as is, etc.

I didn't go into this thinking that it was gonna drive like a Bronco Sport. They are two totally different animals. I get that. Plus, it's not gonna be driven everyday. Hell, it's not even mine. This is for my mom who works from home most of the time and only goes out to the grocery store or the occasional office call-in. It'll be fine as is. The more unrefined road manners won't even be noticed when it's not driven every day. And when we are up in New England, I'm sure we'll upgrade to knobbier all-terrain tires. Or if the weather is really bad, just stay home, easy.

And, I'm ashamed to say this, even though it's very capable at off-roading, we don't ever plan on rock crawling, forging into several feet of water, climbing mountains, etc. It'll just be an occasion car. Something to pop the tops off and take in some beautiful sights, go the park, go out to eat, etc. There's nothing wrong with that, right? Everyone up there has the same idea it seems.

I was at the Bank on Monday and a guy that works there also has a BB BS and he was going to lunch and walked out of the Bank when i did on his lunch break. He said he was thinking about getting the Pedal Max for his BS. I said how long is your lunch break he said 45 minutes i said hop in right away he said wow what a difference the Pedal Max makes. I drove it down the road to a Home Depot and said you want to drive my BS back to the Bank and he said sure. He said wow what a difference compared to his BB BS without the Pedal Max. He said great now you probably convinced me to get the Pedal Max. :).FWIW i asked him how many likes were on his BS and he said almost 30,000 and i asked any problems with it he said he's no problems except for the cracked windshield.

As for snow, I have found the BS BL is a beast in the snow and the full size stays parked in the garage to avoid the copious amounts of salt
Our BS BL was excellent in the snow

Bronco Sport and the Wrangler are two different class of cars the equivalent car in a Ford would have been a full size Bronco and the quality would have been about the same. But we all have a car we like and have to have good luck with your Wrangler.
