Water pump time for my 23 OB!

During a scheduled maintenance visit today I got the news I’m going to need to join the BS New Water Pump Club. Luckily still under warranty. Any tips to share about what to look out for or request as part of this procedure?

Depending how close to the factory warranty you are you might ask what the water pump warranty is on its own, or if it will just follow the factory warranty as well.

If you're under warranty then you are under 36k miles, so depending on how long you plan on keeping the BS you might look into what an extended warranty costs. If you needed another water pump in the future the warranty could be cheaper to buy depending on how much it costs to replace it out of pocket.

I just passed 36K this month but they are covering it under the power train warranty. Bought an extended warranty from Granger when I brought the car and it is nice to have that piece of mind. Hoping to have many more years in this car that is perfect for my needs and aesthetic sensibilities.

Make sure they follow the Ford instructions and flush the cooling system before installing new pump.
