RAM 2500, KLR, Bronco Sport Badlands on order
You will get what you ordered as long as the order is accepted. If accepted they are committing to a 2022 model delivery with price protection. I have not heard of ford putting Vehicles on the train without the main packages (luxury/convenience, tow, Assist+, Moonroof). Your order just will just be in hold. They are out of prett much everything but the tow package.

In fact a long list of (low option MSRP) orders are being built this week for obvious reasons. So far the missing things have have been items you don’t select on the order like Start and Stop, rear seat beating, and rear temperature control panel on the explorer. (and the long list of stuff we have been discussing like our engine covers and bash plates, and spare tires, etc). One subtlety I have hear is Badlands bash plates made of lower trim resin instead of metal. Don’t know if that is true. Keep waiting. You will get it!

jusr sit back and wait. If you don’t want to wait I notice eBay Motors has at least a dozen 2021 Bronco Sports with 7000+ miles on them ready to drive away..
Yep, am aware. I've a post in a Forum Thread somewhere about the low content builds that have been built over the last 3, 4 weeks now, and are at or on their way to dealers. I recently scanned dealer inventory Window Stickers all over the State and a few in WI noting few BLs, mostly BB and OB all missing 360+ and Tow Packages.

Along for the ride, sometimes I just get caught up in the frenzy

Hmm. At frame level,
Lincoln MkC == Ford Escape == Bronco Sport == Ford Maverick.

so AWD in any of those with traction control should be same (save for engine). Right?
Badlands has state of the art rear differential gear box and other off road goodies.
Well I got an OB- the BL rims are horrible (my opinion) and ebony roast isn't available. Since I'm leasing, I was not going to buy new rims. Hoping the 4x4 is a step above AWD!

So, I got an email from my dealer saying it was ordered, but nothing from Ford yet. I have read several times that at least one guy got an email from Ford almost immediately. What is the general experience of others?

I just contact the "order specialist" at the dealer and he gave me an order number.

Did your MKC have AWD ? The only issue I ever had was deep snow because of ground clearance. My wife and I really like Lincoln products and have owned several throughout the years. My wife will be parking her new BS BL's (when it gets here ?) next to her favorite car she calls Abe a 17 MKZ that has every option. Before the pandemic Lincolns would lose half their value when driven off the lot, Today they hold their value.
Yes, my MKC was loaded with the larger engine and AWD. I'm looking forward to receiving the equity on every 1,000 miles I didn't use (20,000+) and the increased value which is higher than my pay off!!
I love my MKC but didn't like the Corsair so that's how I got to the BS since I have A plan!

I have an order number on the sheet my "order specialist" (aka floor salesman) printed out before he submitted the order in the WBDO system. Call for customer service and verify your order is in and they have your email address.

We sat with our salesman/friend at the dealership and he entered the order into the computer, took our deposit money and said he’d hit enter. Sounds like he literally did because the communication from Ford came within 30 minutes of that.

And how much more did you pay for that Jeep, or how many things did you forego to make it the same price? What sort of gas mileage are you going to live with for the next 5-10 years you drive it?

There are lifestyles that the Jeep really fits, but I don’t think there is a direct comparison between a Gladiator and a Bronco Sport. From memory the pentastar V6 is not known for reliability/longevity, not that Ford doesn’t have their problems too.
Let’s see

1. 11K more by choice (I never did an order based on price. The BS BL was same. I loaded it to as much as they sold for). Paying in cash for Jeep. Forgoing nothing. Never buy anything I cannot afford. I loaded the Jeep to the top also with about 17K in options and there was not one thing they said was not available. Got start stop, all safety systems, hard bash plates, 8.4 screen, etc etc. It was nice seeing a manufacturer that did not say no you can’t have that or you have to wait 7 months for that. 8 weeks and they built it with everything. Odd.

2. 17/22. Dont mind that. Have had a FJ Cruiser since 2011 with 17/20 so that is 11 years already for that. Can afford the gas. In fact we are trading in our good mpg car (BMW M inline 6 turbo) and keeping the FJ along with the Jeep.

All cars have their issues. We love them in spite of that.

3. Was not comparing the vehicles. Was comparing the experience between the two manufacturers and the service when ordering. :) I am a long standing supporter of the BS otherwise never would have ordered. Both are so unique it is hard to compare them to anything in my book. I love unique vehicles!!!!

Course now that we are getting the gladiator, the 7650 towing capacity and truck bed will be nice along with the ability to also take it off-road and top off when we boondock.

Course does not mean I will not return to Ford at some point, they just left a bad taste when trying to get my beloved BSBL.

Have to get over my PTFSS (post traumatic Ford Stress Sysndrome) first! :cwl:

@Rgill

I think you covered my point, maybe better than I did. The Gladiator is not a comparable vehicle to the BS, even at the Badlands level. Just so you know, I did go to the Jeep website and look at what the cost was for something even in the ballpark of the BS. I concluded that you really can’t get much for your $40k in the Gladiator.

There are obviously other things that separate the Gladiator from the BS even if you got something that had comparable features. For one, it is larger and definitely has a stronger bias toward off-road. The BSBL is capable off-road but not on the same level as something like the Gladiator or Wrangler.

Congratulations on being able to get the vehicle you want without regard to price, although I’m sure that is still somewhat important just at a different level than most. You are also fortunate to not have to be concerned about the cost of fueling your vehicle. I would say that for me I am also pretty fortunate in that area but I’m also a cheapskate in a lot of ways. The difference between 20 mpg and 25 mpg can be felt but shouldn’t really be a decision maker for someone who buys a vehicle because they like it, instead of one who buys a vehicle because it is a commodity.

Like you, I also prefer unique vehicles. I also always personalize those vehicles to really make them “mine”. My list of unique vehicles is ‘98 Audi A4 Avant (stick and full leather), ‘03 MINI Cooper S, ‘09 VW Jetta Wagon, ‘12 VW Golf R, and hopefully sometime before winter ‘22 Bronco Sport Bandlands. I think we have that in common, to some extent.

I never got anything directly from Ford. I called Ford and they said it is due to the dealer may not have my email linked to the order. Ford told me order is in but waiting to be scheduled. so maybe you are in the same situation.

I called Ford on Tuesday....and they said I'm not scheduled. I may want to call my dealer on next monday or Tuesday to see if there is any update. if not, that mid Jan ordered is not scheduled in May so it will not likely delivery in June or in July. that is 6 months + at this time. I have lost faith...I don't think the order will be scheduled for a long time based on all the talk of the options makes the delay (and I have all the options). soon it will be like someone who ordered last November and still don't have a build date.
