In one review the driver said "I wouldn't try that in a CR-V." Over and over the BS proved itself to be capable, not just a funny shaped station wagon with adventurey stickers and plastic wheel flairs. It out performed everyone's expectations.

Since my family came together to pay for over half of this I've been told to get exactly what I want, no settling and no do-overs. It means extra wait time and frustration, but in the end it will be worth it because I'll have more than a funny shaped station wagon that won't get me where I want to go.
I’m with you. No do-overs. I’ve allotted myself one in going for the BS now to replace the explorer which turned out to not be what I needed. But a do over in the vehicle world is expensive, and more so in usual times rather than current market conditions. So for me I’m happy to be in the waiting room & looking forward to having what I want for a decade rather than a year.

Now if I can just quit being an impatient ass...

You & me both! I’ve been pretty patient until recently, but honestly I expected to be into my BS in another month or so, but shipping can take that long & it hasn’t been scheduled yet. Still. I’m not walking now, & better to wait for what I want than be looking to trade again in a couple years with another wrong choice now.

I asked Tim at Long McArthur on his livestream today about long scheduling times for BS. Basically it's Badlands take a while, every package (premium, tow, moonroof, etc.) adds time because of constraints. He said they can get about one BS BL scheduled per month.
oh man! maybe I will have a better chance of getting a big Bronco Big Bend quicker than i can get a BS BL.

I should try to be more patient. but every month goes by is every month I don't have the chance to take a short road trip with my own vehicle that can bring what I want and go where I want. It is just this is the first time in many years I don't have an SUV to use.

hm...I'm not sure reading all these in the forum helps :)....I don't read the Rivian forum much since we all know the wait is going to be long.

I ordered area 51 and wanted to change to cactus grey... but I waited too long- it was already in production. As long as your order isn't that far along, you should be able to change it. Call your salesperson.

My sales person told me this week that it's taking 6-8 months to get a big Bronco.

The corsair is nice but it's no off road machine. It does get around pretty good in 6" or less snow it's AWD. The only reason we will be trading it in on a BS is because it doesn't have adaptive cruise, and my wife likes the BS styling.
I'm going from a loaded 2019 MKC Reserve (last year before switching to the Corsair model). I've gotten stuck in snow multiple times and that's the only reason why I am switching to BS OB to get 4x4. I am going to miss some the luxury features but I'm ready for a change. The cost of the Corsair Grand Touring is just ridiculous anyway.

In the first segment he said they were filling long ignored (low priority) orders for rare retail orders with no packages this week. Last week no Bronco Sports we’re produced.

Did your MKC have AWD ? The only issue I ever had was deep snow because of ground clearance. My wife and I really like Lincoln products and have owned several throughout the years. My wife will be parking her new BS BL's (when it gets here ?) next to her favorite car she calls Abe a 17 MKZ that has every option. Before the pandemic Lincolns would lose half their value when driven off the lot, Today they hold their value.

Today, everything holds it's value, or more. Used car prices are insane. I actually looked for a used BS BL before ordering a new one. A similar one with 20k miles was selling for $2k over MSRP for a new one. The only reason to buy a late model used car right now is because you cannot wait, for whatever reason, for a new one.

Once the weather gets better around here, I will be looking to sell my 10 year old car while the market is hot and just ride my motorcycle until the BS arrives. It's a bit of a gamble that it will arrive before winter kicks in, but I should be pretty safe to ride all the way until the end of October.

None produced last week? I know they scheduled for the first three weeks in May, but was the line idled the whole week?

I certainly agree with you, I would love to sell my corsair as soon as possible but if I sold it and it took longer than 6 months to get the BS I would lose a 2000 dollar tax credit. I just hope the used car market doesn't crash before I can sell mine. It's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't " situation.

.. Placed an order 1 week earlier with same content, except no moonroof - so who can figure the scheduling mystery? The longer in limbo makes you wonder what might get added to the ship short list.
You will get what you ordered as long as the order is accepted. If accepted they are committing to a 2022 model delivery with price protection. I have not heard of ford putting Vehicles on the train without the main packages (luxury/convenience, tow, Assist+, Moonroof). Your order just will just be in hold. They are out of prett much everything but the tow package.

In fact a long list of (low option MSRP) orders are being built this week for obvious reasons. So far the missing things have have been items you don’t select on the order like Start and Stop, rear seat beating, and rear temperature control panel on the explorer. (and the long list of stuff we have been discussing like our engine covers and bash plates, and spare tires, etc). One subtlety I have hear is Badlands bash plates made of lower trim resin instead of metal. Don’t know if that is true. Keep waiting. You will get it!

jusr sit back and wait. If you don’t want to wait I notice eBay Motors has at least a dozen 2021 Bronco Sports with 7000+ miles on them ready to drive away..

Hmm. At frame level,
Lincoln MkC == Ford Escape == Bronco Sport == Ford Maverick.

so AWD in any of those with traction control should be same (save for engine). Right?
Badlands has state of the art rear differential gear box and other off road goodies.
