I’m really surprised at the transit time…it really was the express train. A clone of ours was also delivered today, slight mix of options (no tow) but equally long wait.

It's really just process. The trains don't make up routes every time they go from one place to another. Both recent runs to Portland had the same very specific arrival time of 11:29PM, so it's possible to think it's a fairly regular route. Ford can plan the OTR section based on the anticipated train arrivals. The driver shortage is playing havoc down here, but maybe Canada is better? Even with the disruptions there should still be normative expectations, discernable patterns, and more realistic estimates than what Ford is providing. Of course if Ford does all the road shipment part ad hoc then no wonder it's so chaotic.
The last mile shipments probably hang around until there’s enough cars going to that specific dealership to fill a truck.
When I was at the dealership last time I watched the truck offload 2 vehicles then leave to the next location. It's full trucks going in directions, not full trucks going to specific dealerships.

If you have a sticker it's "in production" and definitely happening.
My dealership is located in an auto mall so with 10 dealerships I'm hoping they have enough vehicles to make a delivery. It can take up to two weeks for delivery from our rail yard as it also receives vehicles from overseas, some head out on the train and some by truck.
