I just received a phone call from my salesman about my BS Badlands order. Drop off is tonight for pick-up in the AM. Has anyone received a higher purchase amount that when it was built? My build was sub-$40K and my purchase price is now $40,033. My cousin provided his discount through Ford, which is included. My sticker price is $41K, but it doesn't jive with the original build price.

How is this possible? Lucky me, I can't find my original build print-out. Any help would be appreciated, I'm supposed to be there at 10:30 AM EST.
The additional shipping charge of 100.00 and the change in fuel costs they charge to fill your tank the first time are not price protected. I could see that adding 125.00 to your final bill.

Destination and Delivery was $1595, also not protected from what I’ve seen. Ridiculous amount if you ask me. I ordered a Subaru that was built in Japan and it didn’t cost me $1595 or even close to that.

Per Tim Bartz here, D&D are also protected.

i have D&D on my order out and signed paperwork with my dealer so I do think it will fall in the price protection category. It’s part of the overall price.

It's dealer discretion for the plan prices.
That’s true for everything. But you also have the discretion to tell them to pound sand. There have been many members here that have been told price protection doesn’t exist, that the Bronco sport isn’t included in the custom order 1k cash back etc. all you can do is show them the facts, whether they accept them is another issue. I’ve never had a dealer not accept a plan, if they didn’t, I’d just go to another dealer. That’s the nice part about using the plans, the dealer becomes a surrogate. They get a small holdback and hopefully a customer that comes to them for service.

Edit, not all vehicles are included in the plan, but the Sport is, not the full size.

I appreciate the info. My cousin is the finance manager and I don't feel he would screw me over. The problem I have is with the "rough" numbers without seeing actual paperwork yet. I'm very much a visual person, so I'll let y'all know what happens tomorrow. Frankly, I don't like being jerked around. I love the "warm and fuzzy" feeling I normally get when purchasing a new car, I haven't felt it this whole time since ordering. Just distain for Ford's process and my salesman/dealership's lack of responsiveness. The whole goal here was to be out the door at $40k or less. Now with tax, I'm well over. disappointing.
Please do fill us in for sure on how it goes. I hope it goes well & you’re pleasantly surprised!

Due to the pricing difference, they now say that Ford makes them file paperwork at higher value, then reimburse 6 months later for the difference from February and now. Roughly $2300 check will be sent after processing. X-Plan beats just a rebate, so just waiting to see my trade value now. Still here. Update soon.

That's how they process the x-plan when there's a price increase, theoretically.

So if you have a signed order sheet you should be protected by the price on the sheet?

I should think so, it's an agreement between the buyer and the dealer (seller).

Dealers can do whatever they want. Ford has some ways of putting pressure on them to treat customers well. Price protection reimburses the dealer when they complete a retail order sale to the named individual who placed the order, as is explained by Tim Bartz in this post. The most important thing to remember is you are not buying a vehicle from Ford. The dealer is buying a vehicle from Ford and reselling it to you. If a dealer does not honor price protection on the cost they charge you and you buy it anyway, the vehicle will be reinvoiced to the original order price, the dealer will be reimbursed the difference between the original price and the increased price, and it basically becomes ADM for them. Ford tries to discourage this, but it's still possible.

Don't let your dealership double dip.
