I'd imagine the obsessive crowd is small compared to the 'order it and wait for the salesman to call when it's in' crowd.
I think I've only annoyed them at appropriate times: once per week to see if it had been scheduled, then no contact until a week after it entered production. At that point the dealership should have provided more than a shoulder shrug. At two weeks in production they should provided more data than "it was scheduled to be produced a week ago."

I successfully deleted the drunken email I was about to send to the idiot salesman who thought he could appease me by sending the window sticker two weeks after it was available on Ford's tracker site. Are the salespersons just that stupid about the information that is available to customers, or do they think we're too stupid to access the information to which we have access?
I was told by my salesperson that Ford sends correspondence (or lack there of) to customers about their orders before letting them know anything at the dealership. Not sure how true that is, but just a different perspective.

In defense of Ford salespeople - my guy has definitely been as helpful as he says he could be. I would hope he’s being truthful. Whenever I send him a question or issue he responds and has never left me hanging.

As far as Ford goes - they could 100% do better. You hear that @Ford Motor Company …DO BETTER

I contracted the dealership about 2 months in because they said it takes that long before anything is scheduled. I was given a rough estimate of when it would be in production, so I contacted them at that time and yes my truck was scheduled for production. That was when they said it would be mid-end May, and shipped beginning of June, 3-5 weeks for delivery. So far they have provided me with accurate info. Since I have access to the tracker I won't need to contact them until my expected delivery date. I'm sure yours will flow through the production stage this week and perhaps all of ours will be on the same train :) Orders in Canada do not receive any emails from Ford so the only source we have is the dealership. Perhaps Ford will review their communication practices in the future.

I agree we are the small crowd... Especially since the ORDER TRACK says there are only 8 other vehicles like mine being tracked right now...

THe one with the rail car info in it (which I haven’t gotten into yet for wanting to track that much) which I was given on here works for both sides of the border. A little easier as once you enter your VIN & order # once it seems to hold it.

It is absolutely untrue and saying so just proves that lying is still hardwired into the DNA of car salespersons. I stopped by my dealership the week mine was scheduled because I happened to be in town (other end of the county, 35 minutes away, I happened to be in the area for other reasons), and after I got the salesman to look up the order it was scheduled to a week and had a VIN. The tracker didn't update and the email didn't go out until the next day. Dealerships have 24/7 access to the vehicle visibility report which has a real time status (date and time stamps) for every major action taken for a build. This thread has a picture of one. This is the information available at all times to a dealership. They are apparently just reluctant to share it with customers. Maintaining an air of mystery might have been a working paradigm before the internet, but it's a failure of customer service in the information age.
