A interesting fact. In New York state we have a sales tax when we buy a new vehicle. The dealer trade in value may be less than selling to Vroom or Carmax. Here's the catch. If you sell your vehicle outright, you pay sales tax on the whole amount of your new vehicle. If you trade-in to the dealer, you only pay sales tax on the difference. This difference in tax could offset the higher price offered by selling outright. Do ALL your research before you buy or trade-in your vehicle.
