Transporting kayaks

Just recently purchased my 2021 Bronco sport Big Bend and stopped in my tracks when I tried to load my kayaks. There were no crossbars . Why would ford overlook this important feature on their Broncos for outdoor activity’s ? I’ve ordered crossbars from Amazon but is this a bad idea when you have a sunroof ? I also wanted to install nudge bars but mechanic does not recommend it because it might affect the censors .

You can order OEM crossbars from Ford if you order the vehicle. So they have that option. Sunroof won't be an issue as the crossbars should allow the sunroof to open under them and you can load the kayaks onto the bars.

It's not overlooked. Cross bars are an option item when the car is initialed ordered and is available form the Ford Accessories website.
The crossbars also affect wind noise and gas mileage also. Ford benefits by making them an option item. Quieter car and slightly better gas mileage makes for better car reviews.
You might want to use the forum search for suggestions in regards to the crossbars and sunroof, and bull bar/brush bar options.

When I wanted to haul my canoe on my Jeep Liberty, I made front attachment points by folding a 8" peice of nylon strap and putting a grommet to tie the loose ends together. I removed a bolt under the hood, and put it through the grommet. Flip them out on both sides before closing the hood, and you have a good attachment points to tie down the front of you kayaks. Even if you have a Badlands with tow hooks, this keeps the ropes from rubbing the hood paint. I haven't tried it on my BS yet, but I know it will work the same.

You didn't look to see if it had cross bars? They are pretty easy to see..

I ordered a pair from amazon and they fit perfectly . Easy to install and they look beautiful. Like they always belonged there .
