As in die cast models.

I mentioned before, I lucked out in that one available model is an exact match to my BS Heritage Ltd, color and all. It's small, 1:64, Hot Wheels size, but that's fine.

Now, preferred licensed toy makers usually get early access to design details so as they can make their tools and co-release the toy. This one, from Greenlight, includes a window sticker on the card insert. And I'm sure it was just sloppy editing on the part of someone at Ford, but oh wouldn't this be fun! A 2.7L Ecoboost V6 in a Bronco Sport? Zoom-zoom!

I happen to collect these diecasts, currently there is 8 variations.

did you know Greenlight has a Free Wheelin' Bronco sport on preorder since late 2022, way before Ford announced the actual Free Wheelin' edition back in July '23

Wouldn’t a 2.7 introduce negative aspects for a lightweight 4WD vehicle? A quick lookup shows 315-335 hp and 350-400 fp torque. Seems overkill to me.

Caveat: I’m a newbie at all things trucks and offroad. But in an automobile too much power makes handling dangerously slippery. Witness all the dimwits who total their new lamborghinis immediately after hitting the gas pedal. So, would a 2.7 be a good or a bad thing in a BS? (Talking safety, not fun in a straight line.)

Maybe if they could shoehorn it in as a North-South installation, along with the listed 10spd tranny... fix the torque steer at least!

Safety can be determined by how hard you press on the accelerator pedal.

A lot of it depends on what you want to use the car for and how the power delivery is set up. How flat is the torque curve? If I can get most (>80%) of the torque at, say, 2000-2500 rpm then it would be quite beneficial for off-roading. If you have to rev it up above 3000 rpm to get useful torque then off-road usefulness diminishes.

That said, I think a two-speed power transfer unit would be a better upgrade for this vehicle in off-road situations.

As far as daily driving, the 4WD system setup would limit the downsides of 335 hp. Yes, it's a relatively light vehicle, and the tires are relatively narrow, but that just means the power transfer unit would see a great deal more wear, especially if you get into the habit of using all that power frequently. Further, Ford's traction & stability control systems do a pretty good job helping avoid stupid driver tricks.

That's not to say you couldn't do something stupid with all that power; nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently motivated fool. But I think as long as you keep all the nannies engaged (traction & stability control, etc.) the car would be no more difficult to drive on the road than it is now.

Also interesting that the window sticker shows as a Badlands with no mention of Heritage or Limited.

Any time I visit a hobby store, or even my Publix that sells hotwheels cars, I look for the bronco sport ones.

Looks to me like the Optional Equipment section is from a full size Bronco. Notice also the 10-speed auto, mic tops, etc.

I especially can't wait for this one considering I'm a big Matchbox/Hot Wheels collector!
