I’ve noticed people of all generations wake up, watch the same things, eat the same food and say the same things over and over. There’s very little original thought or opinion spoken that wasn’t just regurgitated. I’ve been left to ask myself whether I’ve become wiser or is life just dumbing down around me to make me feel smarter ?.
Originality is rare in a world of nearly 8 billion living people with some 120 billion who've lived throughout history.

The only thing new in the world is the history you do not know.

For that reason, the touch screen secondary controls, this may be my last brand new car.
Being a retired scientist, techno doesn't frighten me, but it has limitions for appropriate application. Some decades ago, 2 mancturers designed their scanning electron microscopes with solely keyboard and mouse operation. Besides being awkward and inefficient, operator fatigued and carpal tunnel damage was the result. Eventually, they added proper ontrol panel operations (knows anuttons and switches). I bought one of these instruments and developed a ganglia on my wrist. The ganglia went away shortly after I bought the newly developed contro panel. I met with the engineer who developed the control panel. He also developed a wrist ganglia , which was his motivation to deelop the add-on control panel. Later model microscopes were no longer sold with just mouse/keyboard control.

The problem with touch screens and multifunction controls is that they require taking your ees ffof the road to make function changes and selections. The result is distracted driving. You might as well be texting. It's no differen than hunting around a touch screen.
Wasn’t expecting anyone talking about SEM’s on this forum! Good analogy. Screen sliders were awful.

Lack of salesman knowledge amazes me also. When I decide on a new vehicle, I thoroughly research all the specs, options, difference between models, and price. I'm usually much more knowledgeable than the salesman. It pays to do a little research before buying.

My wife's 2021 Mercedes GLB has a touch screen and also a touch pad that controls everything on the center screen, either by pushing down or swiping on the pad.

Once you get used to it, it works pretty well. Has a palm rest also.

youtube is full of mind-numbing garbage. So many trying to post content and get views…trying to become the next Doug DeMuro or Joe Rogan. They are trying to sound complex and sophisticated. Local news and the weather channel doesn’t sound much better. Our vocabulary is on the decline

We turn to YouTube to gain knowledge but the “knowledge“ we are looking for was never there. Just 18 minutes of “content” with a lot of filler and what seems to be a vocabulary word bank from a 4-year old.

Now I did repair my refrigerator for like $200 from an awesome YouTube how to. And they had to dumb that down real good because I didn’t understand a thing I saw the first time
I totally agree! It’s actually comforting to know i’m not the only one that notices these things. I too have found some You Tube videos to be worth watching and useful for many things. As for most of it I feel the same about all the “filler” content. I came to my own conclusion that it’s due to them trying to keep you tuned in and watching the video as long as possible because they make more money. I haven’t researched it because frankly I don’t care enough, I catch on to what they’re doing quick and move on.

You will love it!!! I have had a 2005 Escape, 2014 Escape, 2019 Escape, and now a 2022 Bronco Sport Badlands. 2004 was a 3.0L V6, 2014 was 2.0L I4, 2019 was 1.5L I4, and Bronco Sport is a 2.0L I4. 2019 was like driving an oversized go cart with that 1.5L. lol 2.0L with 250HP is the way to go. Have same engine in my 2023 Maverick as well. Love this 2.0L engine, as it has get up and go when needed. Ordered both my rigs without test driving either of them. Just did a bunch of research on both.

Hey congrats. Waiting on the car is the hardest part I swear. I know I went a little nuts waiting for mine…actually I’m sure I was starting to piss Ford off even. But well worth the wait.

I watched a lot of YouTube videos as well and the ones that annoyed me were the ones that would be like it’s not big enough…well it’s a CUV….well it’s not a true off roader, no shit? And things like that. I also found the knocks on the plastics to be annoying as well. It’s a price point car it’s not going to have a true luxury interior and if it did it would put it at a ridiculous pricepoint
