Am I up a creek on this one? My tires will not pass inspection. OG tires from Dealer after purchase of a Brand New Bronco Sport. I am the OG owner and am being told from Dealership I have to take it up with Perelli. Ok, no problem...Perelli asks are they Replacement or Original Equipment. I tell them these were the tires that came with the brand new car. Not covered they say. They do not carry a "Tread Warranty'' on "Original Equipment"

Perelli 225/65/17

I have only 19,000 miles on this vehicle. Drives straight, pressure has been good, tires rotated regularly and the treads are evenly worn.

I am being told if they are not replacement tires that there is no tread warranty? Has anybody experienced this? These tires should last up to 50,000 miles. I understand that I might not get 50,000 but not even half?!?! Anybody have experience with this?

Tread wear? Good luck with any warranty. Just buy some new tires. Some tires compounds are just shi**y and wear out prematurely down near 20K depending on driving, etc.

It’s finger pointing for sure but look at the tire warranty provided in the stack of warranty books when you bought your vehicle or if you were not provided with hard copies let me know and I will post a pic of the separate Pirelli tire warranty pamphlet provided with my Bronco Sport. Good luck!!

btw here is a link but I do not know if this exactly matches the pirelli warranty we were provided with the BS:
https://www.pirelli.com/tires/en-us/car/tire-use-guide-warranty/tire-warranty

and my reading of the limited warranty at the link above is for when the “tire becomes unserviceable due to workmanship or material defects within the first year from the date of purchase or within the first 2/32” of the original usable tread, whichever occurs first..”

“When the treadwear indicators become visible (2/32” tread depth remaining), regardless of age or mileage, the tire is considered to be 100% worn and will not be covered by this Limited Warranty.”

it is not a treadwear lifespan warranty.

I literally went through this a week ago at the dealership QuickLane with my Falken Wildpeak tires on my FE at 30k miles - the tires have a 55k warranty. I worked with my advisor and called Ford customer service which initiated a claim that the advisor was going to process. However, it is pro-rated and based on the mileage they were going to pay me 20-30% of the cost of the tires but ONLY for the same tires which had no rebates from Ford. As I had followed all of the recommended maintenance (i.e., proper pressure and tire rotations), rather than put on a new set of tires that will wear off after 30k miles I opted for Toyo Open Country A/T IIIs that came with a rebate and price that was actually less than the price posted on popular tire sites. They have a 65k mile warranty and with the rebate from Ford were a better deal than the Falkens in my opinion.

As mentioned, tires are usually covered by a separate warranty. There should be a book in the glovebox. I look at OE tires as a disposable item to get what I want. :D

Want to use up the OE Bridgestone on my '22 Escape to get something else. Probably Continental CrossContact LX25, which I have on my '14 Escape now.

Deep down I think I knew the answer to my question. Thanks for the replies. not sure the Perelli is the best suited tire for an SUV anyways although i have not had any other issues with them.

I think I will be looking into the Toyo Open Country. Undecided yet. I like the KO2's and the WildPeaks as well but will likely go the cheapest route between those 3.
I've got a Creamery Tire out here so that is where I am headed this weekend.

Thanks again for the replies

My 2022 Outer Banks came with Michelin tires. Unsure as to any warranty, but they’re supposed to be good tires. My trade in was a 2017 Escape that came with Continentals, Those tires would get a puncture flat if the nail was on the next street over. I suspect there’s no tread warranty because of expected rough use off road.

I’ve been told by tire places that the tires that come on new vehicles are often crap. And have been in your shoes with my elderly moms RAV4. Hers had between 15-20k and wouldn’t pass.
