I know there’s 50 threads on this topic but haven’t seen a ton of feedback after everyone picks a certain tire.
Does anyone have the Falken Wildpeaks AT3 in 245/65/17 and can you give me some feedback on road noise and real world MPG. Also in consideration are the BF Goodrich Ko2 but worried about road noise and losing a ton of MPGs.
I want the 245s because they look great but admittedly don’t off-road as much as I wish I did because I work so much. This is mainly a daily commuter and if I need to get the 235s to be a little more reasonable for day to day driving I’ll go that route.

I would go with the Wildpeaks as it sounds like those would suit you best. Remember, 245’s are 10mm wider than 235’s. Less than the width of your pinky.

youll be good with either choice. many people run both types you listed. i have KO2s and yes theres road noise, but its not terrible. i honestly think the 245s are quieter than the 225s. but the 245 look way better.
either way, those are both good choices.

I've had the 225 K02s for a week now, there's some more road noise than the stockers but so far in the snow the K02 out performs. I went with the 225 because there's no rubbing issues, the no issues with the speedo, and the Mpg hasn't changed. I know that the 245 is a popular size for the sport drivers around here, but I'm happy with the tires regardless of the size.

We went with 235/65R17 Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 tires on our Badlands, which is mostly a commuter as well. They are quiet on the highway and have been great in the ice and snow up here in Saskatchewan. They are not as aggressive as KO2s, but I think they are great all around AT tires if you're a commuter.

Happy with how it came out…

scored a deal for some Falken Wildpeak At3W 235/65/17 for 440 off of Craigslist, and had them installed and insured for the life of the tire at America’s tires for $200.

Is that a wrap on the roof? I love the contrasting black roof on Rapid Red. It all looks great with the dark grey Big Bend wheels and grill!

My BL came with 235/65/R17 Falken Wildpeaks and they were great on the road and forest roads/ easy trails. Even though I replaced these tires, I really like them. Went with 245 KO2s because I frequently drive in muddy pastures. Wanted more aggressive treads. I notice more noise and a loss of acceleration from stop with the KO2s. If I had a 1.5L, I doubt I'd go bigger than 235's. Most people here seem to place more emphasis on looks than function. Recognize you are making some sacrifices to go to the 245's. If they are worth it to you, go for it. But, you won't be unhappy with Wildpeak 235s.

Thank you!
No, that is painted gloss black at the ford autobody shop. It’s a long story but a botched wrap job turned into a free paint job. lol

I’m looking at adding the same tires. Have you noticed a change in MPG?

I have the 235 and they are a great tire next to no road noise, 245 are a 1/2 inch taller and a 1/4 wider. I have had my for over a year now and they will be replaced by 245 for looks only .
