Looking at putting a set of upgraded tires on my wife's '23 Outer Banks. Right now BF Trail Terrain's are looking like a good candidate, in P235/60R18.
My question is, has anyone noticed their fuel mileage going totally in the shitter by putting a "heavier" tire on?

I just bought the same tire except in 245/60-18.......I will have it mounted next week...then a full report. My guess is .5 loss of mpg

I don't think we'll be going to 245's. But definitely getting some meatier skins.

The 245's are .7 bigger in diameter and .8 wider than stock OBX. I had several guys on here verify the fit on stock, and I wanted the biggest I could fit stock....it was a tough decision but that's what I did........ Went back and forth several times and I am HOPING the Info I got is good...I will know soon.

You will see a small decrease but less than 1 mpg if my experience and a few old threads hold true for you. Thus, the tires are very worth it. Enjoy!

I switched to the 225 BFG All-Terrains about a year ago, I've noticed a small drop in MPG compared to the stock tires. There was no need for me to go any larger than the stock size but the looks and the performance in snow and light trails makes up for the small drop in MPG. There is a little more road noise than stock.

I have 235/65/18, 1.5” ready lift, crossbars, roof light bar, front nudge bar. Not sure if any one specific or combination together has been what’s effected my mpg. When I do the math on mileage I’m usually around 21mpg.

I have a 2021 Outer Banks. I installed General Grabber UHP 255 55 R18. No clearance problems and no noticeable change in mileage. I use it for soft dirt and sand off roading.

Oh there's no way I'm gonna mod to the point where we get 21 MPG. I might as well drive my old man's ecoboost F150 SuperCrew.

If going to the 235's you'll see more of a decrease do to driving habits and fuel quality than having the larger tire.

Will they fit without a lift? I have a 22 OB with 225/60 R18.

That's great. An extra inch in clearance will be great. Thanks.
