The BS is really haunted! Maybe just smart?

Also, the auto hi/lo on the headlights only appears to work over 35 mph.
The automatic high beam control system turns the high beams on as you accelerate beyond 32 mph and off when you decelerate below 32 mph. This is because (theoretically) below 32 mph your speed is such that can see and avoid obstacles without high beams. You can disable the system in your car's settings, or you can leave it enabled and override it by pushing the turn signal stalk away from you.

My wife says thank you. She asked me the question and I didn't know the answer.

See highlights below. Having them shut off due to low speed is one of the silliest features of otherwise very useful system…
Well, I didn't even think about the speed. I agree, that makes absolutely no sense at all. Thanks for the info!

Truthfully, that's when I need my brights the most so I can see deer's eyes reflecting, unless the deer is standing in the ditch next to the road. And the lane I live on is hilly, when you're at the bottom of the next approaching hill, the lowers get really low when you need to see 'up the hill'.

My auto-brights are great, except for the fact they won't come on automatically when I'm driving down the one-lane road we live on. No street lights, nothing, and they won't come on unless I do it manually. Same thing on our long driveway, they will not volunteer. Otherwise, they work like a charm. Any clues as to what's going on? I thought maybe it was because the lane and driveway have no lines on it, but that's my best guess.
Are you sure that Auto High Beams is enabled?
Center Infotainment screen

(Doing this from memory after watching hundreds of YouTube video reviews. I'm still about a month away from getting my Badlands).
Update: found a video, in case someone needs to learn/review Settings in the Infotainment screen. Auto High Beams On/Off at 11:42.
Auto High Beams at 11:43 in video

You need to o go above 32 mph for the auto to engage. I’m always blinding people on slow speed roads because I forget.

Great tip, thanks!
Another great tip...take the owners manual into the "library" and read through it. Lots of bells and whistles in our BS'.

I am always amazed at the sensitivity of the automatic brights like when you are on a dark road with nothing in front of you the brights will switch off because a car tail lights appears in the far distance and don't come back on until nothing is in front of you.
