I do the oil changes at 5k intervals, and maintain K&N air and cabin filters, and let dealer do oil and service interval stuff at 10k interval.
Ive had two dealers change my oil - the 5/8 drain plug nut has been stripped by their power ratchet to the extent that to remove it requires a 15 mm socket or wrench, and they’ve lost screws that attach the plastic to the metal plate, as well as two bolts that hold metal skid plate to the car.
I just put a floor jack with a rectangular piece of thick plywood under the Badlands Sport, remove the small screws that hold the plastic to the metal skid, then loosen the bolts on the four corners of skid plate, remove the bolts between the corners then jack up the stand to the plate (which takes the weight off the four corner bolts allowing simple removal by hand), then lower the jack with the skid plate, and roll it back a bit.

I'm not trying to be a smartass, just curious -- since you have had so much trouble with the 2 dealers, why not do all of the work yourself?

Your procedure sounds like it works well, but I don't quite follow your description.

Is the plywood and floor jack used only to drop and move the skid plate? If so, do you jack up the Badlands at all?

(P.S.: Nice Morrison quote!)
