Sync display black

Hello,

I have a 2021 Big Bend with 41k miles on it.

Over the past two weeks, my Sync display isn’t working. It shows the startup display, then goes black. When I put it in reverse, the camera displays, but doesn’t turn off when I place it back in drive. If I do a soft reset ( power + right seek ) it works.

Has anyone else had a problem with the display and found a fix?

I’m having this issue as well with my 21 Big Bend but have not brought it to dealer yet. I just re-set every time. I have 65,000 km so similar mileage. Very annoying. I hope it’s an easy fix .

Don't think this is really it, but by any chance, did you hit the "screen off" button? I don't know if that is something that persists through key cycles.

No. Just randomly goes black after startup. Not every time.

That’s my next step. It hasn’t happened for the past two days since I originally posted.

It has been quite hot. I’m wondering if it was because of the heat.

Search Ford SSM 51254. My dealer reprogrammed the gateway module after two other attempts at addressing my multiple SYNC issues, including black screen.

I tried system resets. My dealer did a master reset. Second time they reprogrammed the APIM.

Seems better, so far so good, after reprogramming the gateway module.

How long has it been since the last occurrence of multiple SYNC issues, including black screen? (After the dealership made the updates)

I’m still having trouble with my screen going black. Sometimes 3-4 times a day. I guess I’ll have a dealer here in Maine look at it

Mine hasn’t been acting up since I originally posted. It was very hot for a few days, and since it got back to normal, no issues. Guessing it might be the heat.

I have a 2021 BS OB - screen went black twice in one day. Called FordPass - had to reset to factory settings. So far so good.
