sirius XM quality is terrible and highly compressed. You should try with a digital file vs sirius XM. sirius is about 40-60 bit rate why digital files usually 128 to 192 bit rate

I think the system is just a subpar design, pun not intended. After playing with settings and various audio inputs, it just does not thump. My wife had a Forester with Harmon-Kardon and it was levels above better lows than our BS.

You may reach out to Crutchfield and see what, if any solutions are available yet. The air volume in the BS should be sufficient to really enjoy. I'm happy with the clarity of highs/mids, but the lows just are not there. It was a bit disappointing hearing for the first time. We'll eventually address it but hate to take up cargo room for a aftermarket woofer.

I listen to a wide range of music pop, hip hop, rap, classic rock, rock and heavy metal and have sampled it all on there.

Considering how happy I am with the B&O headphones i own I am gonna have to agree and say the sub lacks range. It’s not that it sounds bad and I think the overall quality is above average at least compared to stock car systems In cars that weren’t branded that I’ve personally driven. I switched it to surround from stereo and I feel like there’s more clarity and I can hear more depth in the song compared to say a pair of AirPods. But the sub while it had a tight punch also seems to have a very tight frequency range. I haven’t messed with the treble mid or bass settings yet.

My B&O system behaves the same way as you’ve described. Bass in the front speakers, no bass in the woofer.
I wonder if an unqualified assembly person either “accidentally “ connected the wires from the speakers incorrectly to the hardware, or there’s some sort of frequency thing that is backwards? The woofer should only have bass. The other speakers should only have mods and highs.
I will have my Ford dealer look at it, solve it and document it. I think Ford will have to look at assembly procedures and then figure out where things got switched.
I messed with ours one day and found that the sub is wired with the front speakers only. When you fade it to the rear the sub cuts out completely. Fade it forward and it gradually comes back in. I was really hoping for a dedicated subwoofer channel so you could dial it to preference but no dice. I’m hoping to unlock some more sound with FORSCAN. It’s been proven possible on base model big Broncos so maybe there’s hope.

Also keep in mind it's only an 8" sub vs the 5.25ish in the front so it's not like it's a standard 10 or 12" you would normally find

The sub shouldn’t be wired with the other speakers. That would mean Ford assembly workers incorrectly wired all the speakers together.
they should have their own channels that sends the correct frequencies to the speakers and then just the low frequency to the woofer.
maybe Ford can figure out which wires to separate and notify owners that have this issue.
I believe it is configured like a set of component speakers is. You get a set of small woofers and a set of tweeters with crossovers that separate the frequencies properly. I believe there is a crossover sending low frequencies to the sub and allowing other frequencies to the front 5 speakers. If you listen closely to the sub it is only lower frequencies coming from it. Don’t know for sure, not a pro, but I’ve done my share of car audio and it sure seems like that’s what is going on. Either way, it’s definitely a let down comparatively.

That's exactly what happens with mine. It's only on with the front speakers.

Thank you for explaining that. When I take it to the dealer, I’ll ask them to check to see if the crossovers that separate the frequencies were left out. Seems strange that there are this many parts missing from my bronco.
maybe Ford has a way of checking assembly records on vehicles?
I literally had to turn mine up loud and stick my head right next to the sub to hear anything coming out of it. Keeping in mind that I’m an old fart with bad hearing(at least that’s how my wife explains me). Bass carry’s farther than other sounds that’s why you can hear it from farther away when someone is coming down the road. So I think some of the bass is getting to the front but it is minimal at best. Almost a waste of time really.

I did the same thing, thank you for confirming.
I don’t think it’s a waste of time. Helping Ford solve assembly line issues will be the best for all Ford owners. And documenting all these missing parts and issues, it really will come in handy in the future. ?
Thanks again….
Sorry, I was implying that Ford adding the subwoofer was a waste of time not your attempt to correct anything. ?

So my BS OB with the B&O seems to be quite lacking.

I routinely have radio set to volume 8 or 9 for comfortable listening with very little subwoofer bass.

My wife's 21 Escape SEL with the same B&O 10-speaker system usually has the volume around 5 or 6. Any higher and the bass from the subwoofer is too powerful. As they are both identical vehicles (more or less) I can't understand why her car definitely has more bass than the BS. I checked settings in radio (treble, mid, bass, etc ...) and they both match.

Any thoughts?
Totally disappointed with the bass from my B&O sound system. Overall sound quality was a real let down. Last two vehicles of mine were a 2019 and 2017 Escape with the stock systems and I don't notice much of a difference.

My wife has an Escape with the B&O system. I'll have to check if hers is the same way.

Normally, her bass is WAYYYYY better, even at 4/5 volume the subwoofer punches.

I order a Bronco Sport last week. I love the car!. But I confess that the B&O sound disappoint me a lot. I have a mini Clubman now, with a Harman Kardon system that I barely survive for a max volume...two subwoofers under the seats. Perfect. I would like to carry my Harman Kardon songs to the Bronco. kkk
Any news from a B&O upgrade for the BS?

Ford’s literature on the sub says it’s a 6x9. 160x236mm. That’s a mid. There’s no actual sub. Hence the dsp cutoff

Wow. I'm really glad I didn't opt for 3 extra months of production time for that.
