I may get yelled at for posting this but a quick search didn't turn this up. I was talking about cars with a couple guys yesterday, and one started complaining about the steering on his new F-150. He said it was too stiff when making turns or changing lanes. The other guy agreed, referring to his 2023 Bronco. Listening to this I asked if they had adaptive Cruise Control and both replied that they did. I asked about lane keeping assist. They said they both had it when they turned the cruise control on! Aha! I told them that was "lane centering" with the cruise control. Then I told them that Lane Keeping Assist was activated by a button on the end of the turn signal wand. They looked at me like, WTF is that. I explained to them and concluded that their steering was stiff because they had that assist on and didn't realize it (or the two heavy green lines on the dash.) After they both checked it out they confirmed that their steering was now "fixed" and no longer stiff. Duh!
