$27,000 was what they offered.
Wife wanted bigger SUV so cleaned up my '21 Badlands and got quote from CarMax on Monday. 24,800 miles, no scratches, no rock chips, original windshield. Interior cleaned up extremely well. $27,000 was what they offered.

Found 2025 Honda Pilot Elite wife liked, test drove it, got 5k off sticker, put a deposit, then sold Bronco to CarMax. Will be picking up Pilot next day or so.

Bronco Sport was one of best new vehicles I ever owned. Build quality excellent. I got lucky got one of the good ones. Some future owner is going to be very lucky.

All cleaned up, driving it 35 minutes to CarMax, I thought yeah that Bronco Sport was super nice little SUV. Ford you did a damn good job.

That's too funny. My wife is in love with the Pilot also. She test drove one a couple months back and was smitten. I'm right behind on ya on this after my recent transmissions issues.

When I test drove the Pilot I was shocked stunned surprised how nice it was. Cause its rated mid pack by the automotive press. They consider the Pilot average compared to competitors. So was not expecting it to be as nice as it was. From what I saw it was far from average. It felt like a much more expensive vehicle.

Make sure you test drive the one you plan to buy. Don't sign anything until you verify it drives as expected. Especially how that trans shifts. One I drove over the top awesome everything.

Plan on getting 2025 Bronco Sport
The timing is going have to be right for my plan. I asked the dealership if they would do a courtesy trade when my 2025 BS OBX comes in. I am hoping to have a buyer for my Subaru Baja at the time. That way, the sale will go through the dealership as a trade-in which will reduce the cost of the BS and the 6% sales tax. This could save me up to $600. I will be paying cash so financing will not be an issue.
I tried to see what CarMax would give me for my 2015 Mazda CX5 and it was a 2k less than the dealership said they'd give me. We do have a friend that wants our CX5 for 3K more so we'll be going that route!

Yeah, I was thinking same as the other guys, the extra 8K Ford wants really helps the resale on the earlier models. And unusual in the auto world, the 1st MY 2021, that's the year to own. No significant manufacturing issues due to the work that year, and no "supply issues" for optioning like later years.

Starting in 2022 Ford started to decontent the sports. Took away rear folding headrest, tool away the beloved engine cover, took away temp read outs on HVAC dials, no panel under glove box, maybe other things I missed. '21 was only year for Badlands Package which was renamed next year. '21 was only year moonroof was required upper trim option. So the '21s were unique.

That is the big decontents for sure. I don't know how people tolerate the non-folding headrests. I fold them all the time until someone (rarely) sits there. They would be such a PITA to fold flat with the front seat back. Tons and tons of other little things too. The pencil holder. The ambient lights in the OB models. The trunk insulation. The hatch release button. The two-tone paint. Seatback protectors. I couldn't list it all either. Of course, they added a few things like the Homelink and the memory seat. But none of that makes up for the other little comforts IMO. That reminds me, I need to ask Santa for a Homelink visor, they plug and play on the 2021s...

I was a bit bummed when the moonroof was the only way to get the Badlands package. If I could have the same car without it, I would have bought it. But I had to have the 360+ and I wanted the upgraded infotainment. The cars were so scarce, a dealer preorder was the only way to get them. Most of the time I completely forget the moonroof is there! And you know, after three years of (knock on wood) leak free ownership, I am soooo pleased with the moonroof. Just yesterday I was driving the family to the beach and sight see. Midway there, I opened the shade and let more fall color into view. It's a cool option even if it doesn't open fully. Which, I'd rather the rear windows could do than the moonroof anyhow. I know it means a functional redesign on the sport, but this is the first car I've ever had with partial opening rears... and it will be the last! Hope you pay attention, Ford.

My 2021 was totaled five months after I got it, replaced four months later with a 2022. My 2022 does have the pencil holder and the hatch release button. I really do miss the temp display on the control knob, though.

I wonder what my 2021 Outer Banks is worth. Paid around $36,000 with the package, mudflaps, mats, black exterior. Has 17,000 miles in excellent shape.

Just go to the CarMax site and get a no commitment offer to purchase. I did that before we went shopping. It let me decide a trade was a better deal.

Just came up with another one tonight. The camera washers are kaput. I was backing up and with rain, I was having trouble so I jinked the rear washer lever to clear the camera and my wife was astonished that it did that.

Since you're local to me... what Honda dealer did you work with? The Passport is on the short list to replace ours.
Recently heard on the news that Honda is recalling thousands of there vehicles (several models) due to engine failure. Possible main bearings failing.

So far the 2025 models aren't included in that initial recall and ongoing investigation of other model years.

I love my Badlands. I won't say it's the best I've ever owned because I still like the Chevy Avalanche I had because what it accomplished for me in my lifestyle at the time. (waterskier, horseowner tow vehicle). I think being that it was a 2.0 the resale value held because there were not an oversupply. When I bought mine, I had to wait for it to come in but I could have had my choice of 8-10 other trims. Currently my dealer has 1 Badlands to 18 1.5 versions on the lot.
