Wife wanted bigger SUV so cleaned up my '21 Badlands and got quote from CarMax on Monday. 24,800 miles, no scratches, no rock chips, original windshield. Interior cleaned up extremely well. $27,000 was what they offered.

Found 2025 Honda Pilot Elite wife liked, test drove it, got 5k off sticker, put a deposit, then sold Bronco to CarMax. Will be picking up Pilot next day or so.

Bronco Sport was one of best new vehicles I ever owned. Build quality excellent. I got lucky got one of the good ones. Some future owner is going to be very lucky.

All cleaned up, driving it 35 minutes to CarMax, I thought yeah that Bronco Sport was super nice little SUV. Ford you did a damn good job.

The timing is going have to be right for my plan. I asked the dealership if they would do a courtesy trade when my 2025 BS OBX comes in. I am hoping to have a buyer for my Subaru Baja at the time. That way, the sale will go through the dealership as a trade-in which will reduce the cost of the BS and the 6% sales tax. This could save me up to $600. I will be paying cash so financing will not be an issue.

It apparently didn’t lose much in depreciation over the 2021 to now timeframe
It did pretty good yes. Was a really nice little SUV. I had it garage kept it was as perfect as a 3 year old vehicle as could be.

I tried to trade in. Best dealer could do was 23k which was 4k less then CarMax. So I wasn't able to save on sales tax on new one. But overall my numbers were good so was happy the deal.

I just traded my 2021 Badlands on a new Volvo XC90 plug-in hybrid for my wife (and I get her R1T). I had a door ding and a tire sensor fault showing with 13k miles and got :$26,500 plus almost $1500 in tax savings. I was pleasantly shocked how well the value has held up.

I hope for the same with my 2023 Outerbanks when the time comes. We are looking at either the full size Bronco or a Jeep Wrangler sometime soon.

Forgot to mention mine at just under 25k mile still had its original Wildpweak tires tread was still deep. Original wiper blades in great shape.

Saw 33 mpg on trips to maryland eastern shore. Was getting 26-28 mpg around town. 2.0 had tremendous power for what it was. No rattles or other odd noises.

I replaced Manual Park Release Cable to get rid of faint rattle. Changed Rear Differential Unit gear oil as preventative. Thats all I ever did to it. Vehicle in outstanding cond in and out for next owner.

Since you're local to me... what Honda dealer did you work with? The Passport is on the short list to replace ours.

Good luck with the Pilot. We had a 21 Passport (same exact vehicle without the 3rd row) and it was nothing but problems and many more recalls than the BS. Two recalls involved disassembling most of the interior!

The last 3 years with my Badlands has been a lot of fun. From waiting 9 months to get it delivered after ordering, to driving it on our beaches. Time for a new adventure!

I'm fairly certain the resale on these vehicles is directly related to the new-vehicle cost. When a new one decently equipped pushes $45K it's pretty easy to sell a relatively new used one for $30K.

A '24 optioned like my '21 had MSRP of 47k. So I think that does help resale value. And still nothing quite like a Badlands Bronco Sport out there still.
