There’s also Luno mattesses which come with inflatable wedges for the gap that look pretty good. Not sure if they sell them by themselves though.

I asked them, they do. There are also many inflatable ones on Amazon that are cheaper, though probably not as sturdy

What is the opinion on the Luno inflatable mattresses? And what is the max sleeping distance in the back of a Bronco with the front seat fully forward.

I slept in the BS when moving from Florida to Colorado. Granted it was on a trailer but by using a foam pad and filling the gap between the the back seat and the cargo area with pillows, it was comfortable.

Lots of condensation. But over all not too bad. Thought about going the air mattress route but did not want to go thru the hassle of setting it up.

That assumes I own a BS. I don't. The folks at Luno were very helpful and said that their BS matress is 74 inches long.

What’s the maximum comfortable height for sleeping in a BS?
See above. I am 6' tall and found a local dealer with a BS-BL in stock. With the front seats fully forward I could stretch out and have a few inches above my head and feet with the tailgate closed. Anyone taller than that would probably have to sleep diagonally. The above assumes a filled gap - either DYI platform, an inflatable gap filler, or stuff gear in there.

The best way to buy a car is to be prepared. If you are in the market for a BS and need to know the length of a cargo area (and/or with back seats down), take tools with you, such as a tape measure. When you want to know how good the engine is speed wise, test drive it.
When I bought my truck, I wanted to know how it felt towing a decent load. The dealership I went to had a trailer loaded with cinder blocks. They hitched it up, and we went for a drive. Sales and dealerships (the good ones) will accommodate you.
