Mine goes through the car wash every week or two. That said, I only use Laser wash touchless. There are no brushes to swirl the paint. There are no flappy swinging pieces to beat the heck out of my paint. The water and soap are sprayed at the vehicle and rinsed the same way. My bad back and hip greatly appreciate it.

I used to do that, but now that it's been over a year I prefer to actually get it clean and run it through the brown bear tunnel. Of course I spend a bit of time afterward wiping down any standing water to avoid spots.
Side note: I'm fairly sure we passed a few days ago on Bond. That really awkward movement inside my Bronco was me waving, not me be being attacked by bees.

really wanted to try out the car wash.....but honestly worried about swirl marks on the black windows in the back,,,,,hum......

I've had the car for 2 years. First few months hand wash only, then got lazy and started driving it thru the carwash. Just remember turning off the hold brakes and take out the antenna.
Now, you will get those swirl marks on the black pillars unless you do a touchless wash. It depends on how much do you care.

Go for it! I’ve taken ours through a wash with brushes and all. We had no issues even with the antenna attached.

I drove mine thru with the antenna with no problem a few times. But then I noticed* another BS in the neighbor have the antenna part ripped off. It could be something else, but looks like from a car cash. Better not take the risk* here.

It looks like the world's longest carwash line as well! Touchless is the way to go for me until the warmer months come back around and then it's hand wash only.

Mine did fine for a while, after about 3 runs over the period of 3 months, bye bye antenna, I definitely recommend removing it

Some people use car washes, some like to hand wash. Here's my take: If you want your car to get the best possible care then hand wash. The brushes in some car washes can put swirl marks and even light scratches in the paint's clear coat. These are much more noticeable with dark colors than lighter ones. A scratch would have to be pretty deep to be obvious on Cactus Gray.

On the other hand, if you find hand washing such a hassle that you don't wash as often as you should (environment dependent), then by all means take it through a car wash. A few minor swirls or scratches in the clear coat can be buffed out. Corrosion (rust) resulting from collected dirt and grime is difficult to control once it takes hold.

In NC, we occasionally get huge downpours of rain. I pull the car out of the garage. Twice around the block and then wipe it down with a microfiber towel. Free brushless car wash. ?

I live down the street from that Buccees car wash, and I have used it for the past few years - it’s great - works well, no damage. I used it today.

I picked up one of these with a foam cannon and that makes it easy to clean cars. It is billed as having 320PSI but I do not think it goes that high. Use the foam cannon, let it soak for a while, rub with a towel mitt, and rinse off.

I bet that tool would be good for cleaning the engine bay and the underside of your vehicle. I have a 97 F150 that needs both. I'm looking into it now...

Two things to consider: The tall antenna on the back needs to be temporarily removed before going through a car wash. Our county requires that the water be recycled; is all the winter salt washed off cars being recycled, too? I hand wash mine or take it to my detailer.

Great point regarding the antenna. My CRV was permanently dented slight sideways after going through a car wash. Never affected the radio, etc but to this day it’s sideways.

I bought it to drive, not admire. It is an off road vehicle after all. So clean it any way that makes you happy.

I pay a monthly fee for a pure magic car wash right by myself totally worth it, can go through as many times as I want. Typically 1 time does a great job unless it's really dirty. Never had any issues with damage to paint, once in a while a mirror will get folded back but nothing of concern. Antenna has been replaced with a stubby, but I've rang through with my roof basket and snowboard carrier on before. Probably would not run through with rugged case on top.
